Up in Maine , any shops to stop in ?

Recommended Posts

If you are driving back, Kittery Trading Post just before the Piscataqua River Bridge before New Hampshire is usually a good bid. With the current climate, like most gun shops in the country, it could be a toss-up. It is right off of I-95.

+1 for Kittery or Cabelas.  Cabelas has been getting a better supply lately.  C&R is near Bath/Brunswick too.  Might be worth a shot.   Stop in some of the Walmarts too.  You may get lucky.

IIRC there is a strip mall in Trenton, Maine (ironic, huh?) right on route 3 just before you cross over onto Mount Desert Isle that has a gun shop.  Last time I was in Maine I stopped in and chatted for a while.  If I remember, the owner used to live here in NJ and could not believe how nuts it had become here.

I think this is the place

And while on Mt Desert Island, check out Atlantic Brewing Co. if you are a beer drinker.

those are the big ones....in that area.....

.....there are lots of smaller trading posts selling ammo, chain saw bars and blades....etc....I even saw an Ice cream shop in Dover selling 7.62x39....well....it was right next to an Ice cream shop...

Wow, I will call some family and see whats up there, my Grandpa is a lobsterman out of Bar Harbor and my Uncle has a lobster boat out of Bucksport.   If you go up to Bucksport at all send me a PM, my family owns some interesting property with Indian carved murals of Captain Buck and depicts the story of his boats coming ashore.

If you're into serious target shooting, Larry's Guns in Gray, Maine should be worth a stop.   I've not been there in person, but I've been a mail order customer, and they carry stuff that is VERY hard to find elsewhere.  They do operate a brick-and-mortar shop.
