    That would be very bad. However, I see it as unlikely as if they were fine with the lower court's decision, they would have simply let it stand.

    I have the Shadow 2 and it was my first CZ. After shooting it, I wondered what took me so long to get on board. I love it. No trigger mods done to it. Not a competitive shooter any more so I just got it for fun. Don’t know if its worth more then just getting the standard model. Not even sure of the differences. I bought it because it looks cool. Yup. Only reason. Life is short.

    Part of NJ's arguement for lower capacity magazines was that self defense incidents usually consist of x amount of rounds fired. Someone on this forum basically agreed with the state and said to the effect, "you're not going to be fighting off the Taliban, it's going to be one crackhead." 5 guys with rifles trying to break into one's home looks like the work of the Taliban to me.

    Well, 1 - Thats all I mostly do now but I cannot drive everyone to a rally or the polls. So sad. 2 - If elected I will be pissing a lot of status quo people off at NRA. Move? Nope. I own GunForHire and my family, friends, and 24 hour diners are here. Fight I will. Anthony

    Hello from warm but really windy Las Vegas. Industry/Media Day at the range just wrapped up and we are tired from the long day. Weather was certainly not cooperative but we sure got our required amounts of lead, recoil and gunpowder. I am sure @Krdshrk will have some really good videos and pictures up soon but from what I recall, here are my impressions. Glock 43x and 48 are quite nice. The grip is noticeably smaller. I am sure these guns will sell A TON. Interesting, even with my smaller hands, I think I would prefer the Glock 19 over the 48. The 48 seems to have more recoil than a 19 despite being only a bit smaller. My preference in the 2 is the 43x. The smaller slide made the gun noticeably quicker and I far prefer a faster cycling gun. Two tone is really cool. Only issue I had with them is that it failed to lock back on empty slide. I generally do ride the safety/slide release on 1911s and other guns but never had an issue with glocks before... but in this case, due to the smaller frame, my thumb apparently did ride that tiny slide release. Other guns... Walther Q5 SF Match and Regular... I did not know ANYTHING about this gun before shooting it. Overall, it is a fairly good gun. Has a good amount of heft to it. I do feel for most people, without the magwell, ie the Q5 SF will be too small a frame and thus a bit top heavy. The magwell version, i.e. the match, does make it better. When I found out the price though... I lost major interest. $1600 or so street price and a street price of $1,200 or so? GTFO.... I don't think it will be a serious gun and here is why. First, in that production type gun, I would rather buy a CZ Custom and get a far nicer and more well balanced gun. The Q5 SF trigger is okay, but for $1200 street, it will still need a trigger job and some other work. Secondly, for regular gun people, $1,200 is too much because at that price, it is still not a 1911 and you can get plenty of semi custom guns in that price range. The Mossberg.... quite honestly not impressed one bit. Yes, it has a really novel system to clean, and you can easily clean the firing pin, but again... eh.Trigger was blah, and when it priced higher than a Shield and on par with Glock... why bother? Shooting wise it felt like LCp/LC9. Colt... DID NOT have the King Cobra at Media day so no comments there. Plenty of really cool guns such as shooting a few suppressed 338 Lapua guns. Tons of full auto. Other interesting guns, really like the Ruger 1911 by Doug Koenig. Shot it at steel at 100 yards and hit 6 out of 8 at an IPSC sized steel target. The Ruger Precision Rifle in 300 Win Mag was also quite nice. Really good value for the money. Can't wait to try it or get it in 338 lapua. Their American rifle in 6.5 RPC was very interesting, looking forward to learning more about the caliber. Shot the Ruger 458 Socom AR15... not bad, especially suppressed but the recoil was stout, even with a suppressor. One in our group did have multiple issues with the rifle... sand blowing.

    I have the Shadow 2. It is my favorite pistol. It is a real tack driver. Great for range or competition. No complaints here. Keep it in Fl so I have the full 17 rounds.

    You can read up the Federal regulations pretty easily. Short version... no stock, no rifled barrel, over 26”/designed to be fired with two hands... can’t be considered a rifle, shotgun, pistol, or AOW. Without being one of those, can’t be any of the NFA stuff (isn’t a DD because of using shotgun shells; can’t make a SBS from something that isn’t a shotgun). In regards to NJ, the NJSP released a letter to FFLs pertaining to these firearms. It was in a long thread on the Shockwave, titled something like “NJ Legal?” If someone else with a better interface of the forum can’t link it for you, going to have to look for yourself, as the mobile site isn’t working to well for me. Spark notes version... the TAC-14, Shockwave, and Black Aces DT are not considered shotguns, but firearms. As long as you follow Federal law, and don’t build one off a shotgun, they are legal... and transferred like a long gun (must be 21, which is Federal). Similar firearms are also ok, following same stipulations. Braced firearms are good to go Federally. In regards to NJ, the Black Aces DT comes with one... so don’t see an issue (named in the NJSP letter). Not a stock, so ok.

    so who *shouldn't* we vote for? I for one would like to see the Nuge's seat filled with someone who'll actually do something useful.

    Go read up on strict scrutiny. SCOTUS took up this particular case rather than a right to carry like that case in California. There's a specific reason and it has to do with setting an overarching precedence for how *ALL* cases heard by lower courts are handled. If it goes to the way of strict scrutiny it leaves the door wide open for appeals to overturn a lot of onerous burdens/infringements on the Second Amendment. It will benefit an entire nation of 2A supporters.

    Or could be that SCOTUS uses this case to establish that strict scrutiny must be used on laws affecting 2A rights and that precedent causes every...single...case...previously decided on intermediate scrutiny or a lower basis to have to be re-decisioned on a strict scrutiny basis.

    I had the same decision and decided to go with an SP01 but have it modified by CGW. This gave me exactly what i wanted for about the same price as a stock Shadow. For example I like SAO triggers so I ordered a SP01 with a safety (no decocker) and had Cajun do an SAO conversion with flat trigger as well as a bunch of other stuff. Mu stepson has a stock Shadow 2 and although he loves it, he does admit to liking my trigger and sights better. Accuracy is very similar between the two.

    I have a bull shadow 2 and I love it. It shoots stupid flat. The biggest differences between the shadow and the SP-01 include but are not limited to; Shadow is heavier (larger frame) Shadow has longer sight radius Shadow has better/more checkering Undercut trigger guard The trigger does not have a firing pin block, so when compared to an SP01 even with the block removed, the shadow trigger is better and has greater potential That's comparing stock vs stock shadow vs an SP01. Realize that the differences are fundamental and not "bolt on" items Also I'm not comparing to my gun which is a different animal as mine is a bull shadow 2 (custom slide and barrel) further modified. I would get the shadow unless you have a specific "duty" purpose in mind for the SP01. I would say the shadow wins hands down in all other regards.

    REMINDER OF NJ ASSAULT WEAPON A semi-automatic pistol that has an ability to accept a detachable magazine and has at least two of the following: (1) An ammunition magazine that attaches to the pistol outside of the pistol grip; (2) A threaded barrel capable of accepting a barrel extender, flash suppressor, forward handgrip, or silencer; (3) A shroud that is attached to, or partially or completely encircles the barrel and that permits the shooter to hold the firearm with the non-trigger hand without being burned; (4) Manufactured weight of 50 ounces or more when the pistol is unloaded; and/or (5) A semi-automatic version of an automatic firearm;

    Wow. Looking this over there isn't a state on there that needs the type of representation the NRA is supposed to offer. CA, CT, MA, MD, NY, RI and us are having our rights being slowly killed. I wonder if we're being over looked somewhat by that lack of representation. At the very least getting Colandro on the board as a voting member could only help show us that this is the case. Perhaps he could either get us more juice or explain where it's going from a first hand perspective. I know a lot of us wonder that. Listening to his radio show, (and according to @Ray Ray at Bullethole :) ), he seems to be a straight shooter. I for one would be interested to hear more in depth where our money is going. Good luck Ant.

    Everything here is absolutely correct. The fake news process has become a toxic pollution to our society. So what is the solution? How do we as a country reverse this course? It didn't happen overnight and it can't be fixed overnight, but what is the outline to get back to a media system that presents facts without biased opinions, false claims and edited videos and let's people come to their own conclusion? I know a lot of people who distrust the media and can identify the same faults with the journalism process that were identified in this blog. What is the next step? Is there an organization that supports the 1st amendment like the NRA or ANJRPC supports and advocates for the 2nd amendment?

    The comments section is a great read into the liberal mindset. Some of these people have it all backwards. Good reading. Thanks for sharing.

    My admittedly uninformed opinion is that if amicus briefs weren't helpful - people wouldn't do them. I can only assume that's correct unless someone informs me differently. That said, I hope they get a brief from CNJFO and also from ANJRPC, the NRA, GOA, SAF and a few other groups as well. I know the Well-Armed Woman has some NY Chapters - I'm not sure if they've gotten involved on the legal end of things - but the founder is now an NRA board member. She should pony up an amicus brief also IMO. So, perhaps you should have your lawyer give you an estimate of what the brief would cost... and do a fundraising campaign (as you did with the matching funds for Cheeseman)…? I'm sure people will kick in. Having multiple legal angles all supporting any SCOTUS 2A case - much less the first one they've taken in years - AND coming from a particularly "anti-2A" state like NY - seems like a good investment of capital IMO.

    i would avoid a single-action revolver such as a Single Six unless you want it for a specific purpose. The S&W 617 is awesome. The Ruger SP101 is a very nice one as well. And, another consideration would be the Ruger LCRx. If you do get a Single Six, check into the Ruger variety with the .22 WMR and .22LR cylinders that swap out. That would be versatile. Another thought would be to get a Smith & Wesson M&P 22 Compact. That is an awesome little gun and Gun Mag Warehouse had S&W magazines on sale.... I personally think a .22 revolver of some kind is a staple in anyone's collection. A buddy has a cheaper older reolver, I think it is a High Standard? and it is a fun little gun to plink with. Although it is kind of ugly, for versatility I would get a Ruger LCRx in 3" barrel. I wish they would come out with one with interchangeable cylinders like the Taurus or the Single Six. Just keep in mind that a .22 revolver has a heavy trigger which is needed for the rimfire cartridge. I imagine that the better quality Smiths mitigate this. I know that just about every time I go to the range, my 22 revolver goes with me.

    As someone who would be one of seventy six if I get elected there is not much I can really do and since I am outspoken I will probably be suppressed and not get any goof committee appointments. I am going into this to hopefully awake some other board members who are not there for just the free danish! I figure I will get a three year term and than not be endorsed for reelection! I am ok with that so it may be a very "interesting" three year run for me. We shall see. Anthony

    I remember going to a Drive-In theater in North Hoosick NY quite few times in the late 90s with an old girlfriend that went to college in Bennington, VT. It’s funny, I don't remember a single movie we saw..... but goddamn, those were good times.
