kenw 293 Posted February 16, 2011 You guys need to remember that even though we have over 1,500 members, only a couple of hundred are active posters. I keep saying that we have to be careful of how we present ourselves, and if we continue to bicker and argue about meaningless details, all we're really accomplishing is to give more ammunition to the pro-candle forces that would see us lose our light bulbs forever. It's critical to the future of the community that all the disparate groups, especially the CFL proponents, come together under a single overarching banner to combat the well funded and entrenched anti light groups who would see use lose incandescency forever. C'mon, guys. We need to stand together on this, even if we can't agree on all the details.
Krdshrk 3,878 Posted February 16, 2011 On another note - apparently they are switching from regular incandescent lightbulbs and forcing everyone to use CCFL bulbs in the next few years. Buy your incandescents now!

djg0770 481 Posted February 16, 2011 Man, those CFL's are killing the environment with all the Mercury they contain. They're a toxic waste spill waiting to happen. And the color sucks. And they take too long to warm up. And you can't dim them (effectively or cheaply).

Zardoz 4 Posted February 16, 2011 I would like a clarification on whether the bulb is to be put in a ceiling fixture or a lamp and what room it will be in.

Dan 177 Posted February 17, 2011 Lets not forget about LED portable lamps of the tacticool persuasion. I've pinned the collapsible battery tube, so its legal in NJ. That is NOT a light-suppressor attachment on the front lense frame! It's merely a luminosity compensator for excess photon spill.
