Interest in NJGF USPSA/IDPA shooting team shirts.

Recommended Posts

Since more and more of us here are starting to get involved in the gun games, figured why not.

Could be either NJGF logo on techewear/gemini shirts, or we can probably get the NJ firearms dealers/retailers involved and get the shirts subsidized.

Before I approach the dealers/vendors in NJ and those I have met outside the forum, need to get a rough idea of who would be interested, breakdown between IDPA/USPSA/Steel, etc.

Sounds nice, but are you looking to just move the NJGF T-Shirts over to the style like the teams use, I like my T and need to loose more of the gut to wear one of the other shirts,,:icon_mrgreen:

So is this more to promote more people shooting together from the forum and maybe making informal squads or just as a way of promoting the forum and getting more like minded people together.

I wear a TechWear shirt now and they are awesome. I'm a big guy and Joe is great and can fit anyone! I'm in!

I'm in... but feel like I need to get a bit better before I'd be worthy to rock one of those cool people shirts.

Exactly what I was thinking also, maybe sometime next year after I get some more practice, and hopefully trim down a little, for now I'll sport one of my NJGF T-'s.

I'm in, great idea to see who else from the forum is out there. Maybe have your screen name added to personalize it, if that's even feasible.

Good Idea, wonder what normal polo shirts with the back done like a normal silk-screened back and option for front silk-screen or embroidered front for name/forum name..

Cost?

Do they come in tall size? Seriously, if the shirt pulls out, it can hang up the pistol. Or just make them long.

I second this. I am 6'6" so yeah, what he said. However I would be in for one or two.

To answer all three. At least when I got mine, they did not come in a tall. I'm 6'7", 37" inseam, about 245lbs. I actually wear my pants around my waist, not halfway down my pelvis, and I don't have an issue with my techwear shirt pulling out, and definitely not with it hanging up on my gun, although I am pretty near the limit. At least with the quarter zip polo style. For the quarter zip polo style, you really aren't going to get much below about $80 unless you order a ton of them. The round collar tee style is much cheaper ~$50-60 depending on what you have done.

I feel the same, I dont feel I am cool enough yet, but I am down for whenever the buy will be. I think even if people wore them to the ranges while practicing(if that's ok of course)that is still exposure for the vendors that may wish to sponsor this shirt buy.

    • I use an Alien Gear cloak tuck (IWB) with my Shield.  Neoprene back - in the summer it does feel warm but doesn't rub or chafe.   https://aliengearholsters.com/ruger-lcp-iwb-holster.html Could also go with the shapeshift as it has multiple options - OWB/IWB, Appendix... https://aliengearholsters.com/ruger-lcp-shapeshift-modular-holster-system.html
    • The  12-1 compression ratio L88 is long gone. This is GM's updated version. it might be  pump gas 10-1 engine The L88 was a aluminum head  cast iron block engine with a nasty solid lifter cam. the  ZL1 was a all aluminum  12 or 13-1 compression ratio engine with the best forged internal parts at the time and had a even nastier solid lifter cam
    • I like my regular carry holster.  OWB leather with belt slots.  I've been carrying for over a year and it was comfortable and I hardly even noticed it.  I carry (usually) a Ruger LCP .380 - light, convenient, tiny. But...today I ended up taking it off an leaving it home after a few hours. I cut down a big maple tree a few days ago and I spent 3/4 of today loading and unloading firewood into the back of my truck and a trailer.  It was a warm day, I was dirty, tired, sweaty, and my holster was rubbing against my side.  The leather and exposed metal snap was no longer comfortable. I'm thinking about adding a layer of something to that part of the holster to soften the contact.  Anything insulating will make it worse.  I don't want a sweaty, hotter holster against my skin.  I'm imagining something thin, breathable, that won't absorb sweat, and softer than leather, metal snaps, and rivets.   But I have no idea what would work. I'm hoping somebody else has already figured this out and I can just do what they did. Any suggestions appreciated.
    • Check the primers on the ammo you didn't shoot yet. Are they fully seated? If the primer is not just below flush with the back of the case, the first hit can seat it better then the second hit ignites it.
