Not that i am a fan but this is a blessing in disguise. They can shift to a podcast and then nobody can fire them anymore and they can say what they want.

I'm surprised at how many O&A fans there are here. A bunch Ant's tweets have been removed, but all the ones pertaining to the aftermath of his attack are definitely gone.

 

I don't know if Jim and Op can carry the show; i always felt like Opie was the weak link in all this because of how he always needs attention from everyone. My favorite shows were always the ones with Jim and Ant. This is a weird time for O&A fans.

I listened to O&A almost every day back when they were on WNEW and then K rock. I never got a satellite subscription so I didn't get to listen than except on a few occasions in someone else's car. But I did follow Ant a lot on twitter since he was a big 2a guy. But that fact that he got fired is such bs. He didn't say anything that should have gotten him fired imo. But then again it doesn't surprise me in this screwed up PC world we live in. It sucks for those who listen every day but at least now Ant can leave that shithole state and take his money and guns and move somewhere free.

LOL, so I guess I will be the first to bring up the fact that Anthony is pro 2A and one of the select few with a NYC red card (unrestricted carry license.)

 

It almost seems like SXM wanted to get rid of them and not renew them anyway. Anthony has said far worse than this incident.

 

BTW, the attitude of people in the city is getting worse by the day. This along with the rising crime is probably going to drive me OUT. Only bad thing is NJ's economy sucks hard. I miss when I used to work in NJ.

With services like Pandora I don't need Siriusxm anymore.

Sirius makes a receiver version for one's car called the "Sportster." It was given to me as a gift, but I never used it because I don't listen to the radio in the car.

I don't believe there's any way they will come back from this to SiriusXM, so I'm going to drop my Sub.  The thing is I'm not sure what i'm going to do.   I'd rather listen to paint dry than regular radio.  3 songs an hour with 47 minutes of commercials isn't something I'm willing to sit through.  My data plan won't support streaming, so I guess I'll listen to to the thump thump of expansion cracks in the highway.   Maybe I can pirate some audio books and play them though one of my tablets or my phone.

I haven't listened to O&A since the WoW Wednesdays the last show I remember was when they sent the bus full of strippers to the mayor's office lol. I have a subscription but mostly listen to octane, the George Carlin channel, and hockey.

Had my 14 year old nephew in the truck recently he said "you gotta hear this station!" I had no idea there was a porn channel! People actually listen to that while driving?

Let me get this straight, these guys get paid to shock people with their antics and try and get a reaction any way they can.  The more shocking and the better the reaction the more people they get to listen to their show and the more $$$ the radio station can charge for commercials. 

 

I used to listen to O&A years ago and loved their stuff, still do.  Each time a major company fires them for doing their job too well it kind of sits wrong with me.  Last time I listened to them they weren't on the Disney channel...if they are doing their job let them be , and don't offer them incentives to do something and then when they deliver get your buns all in a knot. 

 

This is just another step in the pussification of America!

Nothing is ever removed from the internet. He can delete but the internet never forgets lol. Sad part is he is pro2a and he comes off like a foaming at the mouth racist to most people. I wouldn't be shocked if NYC tries to revoke his CCW.

What kind of phone do you have? Drop a MicroSD into it, load it with a bunch of your favorites and hook it to your car stereo via bluetooth or aux if you're old school. Some newer Android phones can take 128GB mSDs. That's a lot of music.

I have a Galaxy S5 with a 64gb MicroSD card in it...the problem is I've played out everything I like.   I currently flip to XMChill when OA are on a break.  I've found some really interesting stuff on there and downloaded everything by the artists I like...like Zero 7, 10 Madison, Thievery Corporation, etc.  Lately I've been on a "Dub Step" kick with Seven Lions, BlackMill and some others.   I'm all over the place musically just because I have an Eidetic memory for sounds, so I'll hear something I've heard before and I can tell you where I was at when I heard it and can generally remember it beat for beat after one or two listens.  I need new stuff .   I'll go from Tool to Ozzy to Yanni in the space of 10 minutes. heh.

 

I'm bummed that O&A are coming to an end, but I suppose it had to happen eventually.   While Anthony has always been my favorite, Opie keeps the pace of the show.   Anthony and Jim shows tend to go off the rails at times and Opie plays the hole, and it ends up being a good balance.   I like the occasional LFTC show but it's usually way after my bedtime and the next morning he erases it to get rid of the evidence. heh.   At least I won't have to listen to 30 minutes of complaints about the mics, the board, the headphones, the bosses, etc.
