I think it's more than "Gun rights advocates" who should question the effectiveness of the new order. It's "anyone who's not high on weed" who should question the effectiveness of the new order.

So if we know that the guns being used in crime aren't being purchased in New Jersey, why exactly do we need more/stricter gun laws in this state? Edit: Rhetorical question alert.

I used to shop there. Got my first AR from him. When I realized how anti 2A and anti CCW he is, I vowed to NEVER give him another red cent of my money! You can say that again Ray!

Where are you located? Everything but the lower can be delivered directly to your home. Just the lower needs to be purchased from an FFL. I still recommend the complete Troy upper for $450 at Primary Arms I linked to above. I’ve been doing this for a minute or two and that is by far the best value for the dollar out there. If you assembled that upper yourself, you would be in for well over $1000.

It doesn't make sense to worry about whether the guns are imported or not, as long as NJ remains so very, very good at producing criminals domestically.

Is this a statement or a question? If it’s a statement, I have a giant problem with this. Although it would make my job far easier, it is flat against everything I stand for and believe in. Just throw probably cause and reasonable articulable suspicion out the window and arrest on “maybe”. Wow....

They're going to publish crime data. So what, compared to the other stuff coming down the pike at us. Wait until they notice that it's all in Camden, Paterson, Trenton and Newark, all run by Democrats. Publish the race and voting record of all criminals arrested.

He should make it accessible to the public each time a prosecutor reduces or throws out a gun charge used during the commission of a crime to get a plea bargain to lesser crime. You know, to show who they are "tough on gun laws".

He's looking at guns coming from places where it's easier to purchase and carry that are brought to a state where it's almost impossible to purchase and carry to commit crimes on people in this state where we can't carry because its easier to shot at us because we can't carry and the states they are coming from can carry. I'm exhausted.

So all this hullabaloo is about NJ taking the bold, progressive step of publishing guns-used-in-crimes data? The guns-used-in-crimes links Zeke and Bob posted are 1-2 years old...and there are lots of similar ones already on the web. Way to get out in front of the issue, Gov SMurph! If only I was politically connected to the Democratic machine in this state, I could easily pull down a six-figure grant to perform exhaustive research into the issue and publish a comprehensive report to comply with the terms of this EO. Because you're my friends, I'll share (without charge!) my proposal. Comprehensive Research Proposal for Gov Murphy Sadly, some Democratic donor will instead be paid a crap ton of money to perform exactly those steps.

Now we can see the data will overwhelmingly show it’s illegal guns.... lmao. The opposite impact he wants is going to occur... it’s not the law abiding, and it’s not AR’s.

Illegal possession? I don't know about that. If the car was parked in his driveway that's property he owns. Nothing illegal about storing a gun on your property in a locked car and in a locked box. I think you're reading into this. I don't see anything saying tell guns were loaded or any evidence he was driving around with them in the car. Not sure about a regular NJ carry permit but the RPO permit has no limitations on how many guns you can carry. The guns you qualify with are listed on the qual form. I grew up in Elizabeth. 50 years ago I wouldn't leave anything of value in my car. I agree this was not a smart idea but I don't see where the judge committed any crime

Yes, that's the case that CA lost (so far) - Duncan vs. Becerra. Highly relevant. The judge, in the Ninth Circuit, Roger Benitez ruled: “Magazines holding more than 10 rounds are “arms.” Proposition 63 burdens the core of the Second Amendment by criminalizing the mere possession of these magazines that are commonly held by law-abiding citizens for defense of self, home, and state. The regulation is neither presumptively legal nor longstanding. The statute hits close to the core of the Second Amendment and is more than a slight burden. When the simple test of Heller is applied, a test that persons of common intelligence can understand, the statute is adjudged an unconstitutional abridgment.” Follow it here - http://michellawyers.com/duncan-v-becerra/

I would recommend building it. It’s easy, fun & believe me you will want to change everything on a stock rifle the more you get into the platform. Easiest route is build your lower and buy a completed upper from a company like BCM. it will require minimal tools and a YouTube tutorial. Literally takes 20 minutes. http://www.nj.com/politics/index.ssf/2016/11/where_nj_criminals_get_their_guns.html This map shows the top sources for crime guns recovered in New Jersey. Pennsylvania was the biggest out-of-state source, with 370 weapons, followed by Georgia (203) and North Carolina (192). Another 29 states and the District of Columbia accounted for 215 other traces.
