8 pointsPermits came in today! And I spring my new gat from jail: I was honored to be given one of Pat’s custom Colt 1911s
-
3 pointsThis happened to my wife’s car once. Right after I took out a big life insurance policy on her.
-
3 pointsGot one of Pat’s J Frames. S&W 38-3 Airweight in .38spl. Definitely had some work done, but I don’t know the details. The gun has been coated and the trigger is smooooooth and crisp:

2 pointsI considered using my KSG (before I sold it) for a round of trap at Salomon’s... think I’d have to feel it out, first. While I don’t have any hesitation with legality, I just hate listening to people apply their own version of law onto things they don’t know about. Most of the guys I shot with there would likely be interested... but I can say of one or two who would start an argument. Just realized I didn’t post this in here...

2 pointsProbaby good that Miculek or even someone with half his talent doesn't shoot USPSA. He doesn't use slow steady pulls, shoots accurately...and is really fast.
-
2 pointsOh hell yeah Ray. This gun will get shot and most likely carried. I also got a J Frame he carried and one of his ARs. Life is good!
-
2 pointsFunny I just copy and pasted that into a text to my wife. She laughed and commented that I’m lying about cleaning my guns. I replied in a perfect world you’d clean those while waiting for my laundry to dry. At that point, based on the response, I may have gone over the line.

2 pointsMake sure you read to the end, it's a good ending.... A few weeks back, I was driving to work and caught this one at about 6:15am: I sent a link to this video to the email that Riverdale police have on their website, then I left for vacation. When I returned, this was on my phone(I clipped his name off the front of the audio clip): As I was digging through my emails, catching up, I had this in my inbox:(I deleted her name) ---------------------------- <WITHHELD> <*************@yahoo.com> Sun 5/20/2018 12:13 PM To: *******, Mark; You forwarded this message on 5/21/2018 7:20 AM. Dear Mr. ******* My name is **** ****** and I would like to thank you for sending in the video to the Riverdale PD of the accident that happened on Route 23. I believe in guardian angels and you were mine on that day. I would like you to know that you saved me a lot of money because your video showed the officer that I was not at fault. Thank you so much for taking the time to send this in even though it wasn't something you were obligated to do. Again thank you very much. Sincerely **** ******

2 points@Howard not trying to bust your chops but too many people seek out the lightest trigger they find to use as a crutch not an advantage. Swapping out springs and other parts to become a "great shooter" is the wrong way to do it. Now I know none of us here shoots like Jerry Miculek. Some of the "great shooters" on this forum were surprised when they found out Miculek uses extra power springs in his revolvers. 10-12 lb is normal , I guess he uses 14lb or more. This assures the revolver will function as fast as he can pull the trigger. One can outrun the trigger on a revolver if the trigger is too light. One wouldn't think of participating in a triathlon without building up those muscles for running, swimming, and biking. You need to do the same if one wants to be a "great shooter". A "great shooter" can shoot just as well with a 10lb trigger as a 2.5lb trigger. Smooth is much more important than light in a trigger. I guarantee you Miculek's guns have smooth triggers and he can finger wrestle guys a lot bigger than him and win.

1 pointWell, I do not buy firearms made in Turkey. It isn't a boycott, it's just me not wanting to support a country that wants me AND YOU dead.
-
1 pointI haven’t run into that situation yet, but it would probably be a factor. It wouldn’t be a determining factor, but it would play into my decision. By the way, it isn’t a boycott mentality as much as just being cognizant that other options exist that *may* fit into my worldview better. If I boycotted every company that didn’t hold my worldview, I would pretty much have no possessions and would likely starve. Anyway, I think we’ve derailed this thread far enough. Back to Sig 2022s!
-
1 pointI tend to agree about it being a blanket ban, but it still doesn’t quite sit right with me. One of the countries in the Middle East isn’t like the others. I’m not about to take my VP9 and film myself destroying it, or even sell it, but I’ll certainly see if there are other competing products that would do the same thing before buying another HK.
-
1 pointI was very close about a year ago to buying a P30 for the exact same reason, but I went with the P320 instead. As for HK and Israel- http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2017/09/john-boch/heckler-koch-no-gun-sales-israel/amp/

1 pointHmmmm....anyone else thinking that this could be the new boating accident?
-
1 pointThere will always be people that would want that power. How is it really any different then say owning firearms in NJ? Look at the assault weapons ban list, besides the M1 Carbine there are a number of firearms which have the qualifier "type" after the name which people have variations of. The AG could tomorrow just declare them all illegal and immediately start arresting people and you'd just be out of luck. Despite that plenty of people do own those variations of firearms. Same thing applies to political positions even if there was personal risk. It would however make politicians extremely cautious when passing new laws, and encouraging them to keep the laws they do pass as narrow as possible.

1 pointI Typically drink Tasters Choice instant coffee.. Kinda what my parents always drank growing up and thats what just got used to drinking, haha. Either that, or Turkish Ground Coffee if i need some extra zing. I'll certainly be giving it a go. New house is Huge and i'll likely be living with the parents for a year or so before i commit to buying a home in the Glassboro Area (A NICE house is like $200k there.. Jesus, i've been saving for a house in Central Jersey and what i've been saving to put 20-30% down on a house in that area is like 50%+ for a similar house here, so sooner rather than later, its looking like). The area i'll be taking over is like 1600sqft (2nd floor), with the whole house being over 5,000 sqft (for the price of 2300sqft in East Brunswick). Will be building a little kitchenette up there and will certainly have space for any brewing equipment i might need that i simply don't have space for right now. Once that happens i'll definitely drop some coin on something nice and get into brewing real coffee. Seems like a cool "Hobby" haha.

1 pointSome would say not to shoot it. It is a collectable. Her value will go up. It's a safe queen. But Mr Rogers would say fuck them and light tha pig on fire, run her hard and learn the gun.

1 pointWell believe it or not, Things are not quite what they seem. This particular "M1 Carbine" was made Howa in Japan in the 1960's for the Thai police which was the only export of them outside Japan. From the numbers I could find the contract was for 10,000 of which eventually 300-800 were surplussed into the United States making them a bit rare (I have seen it claimed as low as only 50 but I have found enough reports of sales that it's unlikely to be that low). Now what really makes this thing interesting and why I really debated even posting this is because technically those are trick questions in the OP. See while Howa did make M1 Carbines for the JSDF and every one calls these M1 Carbines, doing some research I discovered that Howa never sold M1 Carbines to the Thai police. The contract with the Thai police was for 10,000 of the M300 rifles which was a hunting variation made for Japanese hunters. This means that this is not an M1 Carbine but a M300 which, unless there has been some very recent change to NJ laws, would technically makes this NJ legal and therefore I shouldn't be looking at any jail time if I did bring it into NJ.

1 pointI don't know about that. By the time I retired I'd been using and overseeing Glocks for about 20 years. At the end of my career I was overseeing a couple hundred Glocks 9mms and got regular reports of issues for the several thousand my agency used. By the time I retired some of the personally owned guns has over 30,000 rounds through them. My 26 must have over 40,000 rounds through it. I have personal knowledge of exactly one part failing in that time. A recoil spring guide snapped because the guy was trying to put the gun together the wrong way. I understand there are reasons people use aftermarket parts. However, I'm of the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it crowd".

1 pointI love the wording of this. Not only can't it be infringed, but it can't even be questioned... that is, it's unconstitutional to even propose taking away this right.
