4 pointsSpoke to David at Evan Nappen’s office. Very helpful! David confirmed that the Judge can put restrictions that you cannot drive in a car with a loaded weapon. He did however state that if this happens you should go to a lawyer to request to have this amended because there should not be a substantial difference in just a couple of weeks of what is restricted vs not. I asked if I was still able to drive with a loaded gun since my permit did not have the restriction and he said “absolutely”. I hope this helps.

3 pointsDavid from Nappen’s office actually told me that the 60 days includes both the PD and the court. If at day 60 you are not approved you are automatically approved, but will need to take them to court. I thought it was only the PD but he was quick to correct me.

3 pointsFor all of you that don’t understand how repercussions and vengeance works. Not only read this article. But most importantly. Watch the video he put out. This is how vile and perturbed the left is that for us to exercise our second amendment rights. This is the extent of what were dealing with on the local and superior end. Ohhh. Its coming.

2 pointsOld shooters talking The first guy said I get up at 7 am every morning and try to pee. Meds don't seem to work. If I don't pee by 10, I cant shoot. One of the other guys at the table said it sounds like me. But I get up at 7 and need to poop. It takes most of the morning. Cant poop, you cant shoot. The third guy said glad I don't have those problems. I pee every morning at 6. Then poop at 7. I get up promptly at 9.

2 pointsIt helps establish a timeline or figure out if the application is being worked on or not? I guess that's the train of thought here.

2 pointsI don't think the local pd or the county can cash the money order. It is made out to the Treasure, State of NJ. It has to be cashed by the state. Now, I don't know who sends it to the state, county or local pd. Also, I don't see why anyone is concerned with when the money order is cashed. It is an application fee. The are cashing it whether you are approved or denied.

2 pointsI missed the call from Nappen’s office. SMH. I called back and left a message. US Law Shield shared some additional info I think was very helpful(pics below). This makes me think that the permit letter we are all freaking out for is employment related. I will give another update tomorrow when I talk to Nappen’s office and another update when my friend gets his in the next couple weeks from the same Judge in Ocean County. For anyone that has US Law Shield here is a very helpful link! It may work for everyone I am not sure though. https://www.uslawshield.com/travel/ #FJB #MAGA

1 pointSince I purchased my motorcycle back in April, I have traveled north, south, east and west of The Villages where I live. The Villages is huge, about 18 miles from the northern tip to the southern tip and growing. About 10 miles wide as well. I've traveled just about every road and secondary highway. I have an on the ground perspective of everything in this area. The Villages is in the process of pushing even further south than it is. No surprises there. I don't think it'll ever stop. Every where it touches, other developers are building. There are developments breaking ground to the north, and along the 441 corridor as well. It's pretty insane really. My former boss, still a friend, lives over in Crystal River and owns property in several other places around Florida. He picked up an RV slab with power and sewer in the Keys back in about 2012. Right now that property has more than doubled and he's got a tenant on it, more than covering the nut. He bought some unimproved lots and plans to put some kind of rental trailers on it. The available land is definitely dwindling. I realize Real Estate is fixing to have a serious crash, but I suspect whatever happens, won't be felt nearly as much in Florida as elsewhere. There are simply too many people who are coming here for the low taxes and, usually, good weather.

1 pointThe Directive is here The NJ Supreme Court Decision adopting the directive is here Here is how the System works: 1) The Police Department has 60 days to approve or deny. 2) If the Police Department does not approve or deny after 60 days the application is deemed approved by the Police Department 3) An application denied by the Police Department can be appealed 4) An application that is approved by the Police Department is to be presented to the Superior Court Judge 5) After the Court receives the application the Prosecutor has 14 days to make a recommendation 6) With 30 days after the Court receives the application the Court must approve the application for issue or hold a hearing 7) Within 14 days after the hearing the Court must make a decision

1 pointI would've shot at my port neighbor's target lol
-
1 pointI don't even understand what he says in that statement. Local PD have 60 days to approve or deny your application. If 60 period is up then it's deemed approved and must be sent to the court to get the judge's approval. Directive in 2019 was issued to the courts asking them not to exceed 30 days when applications are sent to them from the local PD.

1 pointI didn't think that a judges job was to make up laws.
-
1 pointEvery PD uses different case codes...its just internal to them so that when they get the prints back they can correlate it to an application. Though they could just use your name, but hey maybe I think too simple.

1 pointCalifornia fails to replace concealed weapon ruling (yahoo.com)
-
1 pointFrom the article: ” The undersigned is left with a strong sense of the safety that a licensed concealed handgun regularly provides, or would provide, to the many law-abiding responsible citizens in the state too powerless to physically defend themselves in public without a handgun,” Suddaby wrote. He was in favor of the plaintiff’s arguments that the “good character” requirement was based on “vague, subjective criteria.” The judge also disagreed with the state including a list of locations barring gun owners from carrying in “sensitive” locations, which he said includes places that are “nonsensitive by nature.”” If you read the actual decision, it covers huge swaths of the law calling them incongruent with bruen and not likely to prevail at trial.

1 pointIn lieu of a 1 ton press, I use a brass punch and have the ability to admit defeat and pass it to a professional if I don't succeed. They don't make them any more. You would have to go to the used market, which is not what everybody wants.

1 pointI qualified at RTSP in Union and they only shoot to the 15yd line. Copied from RTSP website: "Course of Fire: • OWB Holster (Hip/Waist Only) Required • 50 round total (per firearm) • 10 rounds at 3 yards • 10 rounds at 5 yards • 10 rounds at 7 yards • 10 rounds at 10 yards • 10 rounds at 15 yards"

1 pointOk so I received my permit from the same Judge. She did not have any of this written on the letter with my permit. I believe this is a restricted permit for employment. It would be ridiculous to drive with my gun unloaded in the trunk.

1 pointI just read a form letter that Mom (in Idaho) received from their Governor. It begins: “Dear Fellow Idahoan, Idaho leads the country in economic prosperity. For the second straight year, we achieved a record budget surplus.” It goes on to announce permanent tax cuts and a 12% rebate of taxes paid last year, because that money really belongs to the people Mom’s check was enclosed. It’s a rather different approach than that taken by the greedy bastards in Trenton.

1 pointI've noted before that I really like the SA XD-S. You can get them in 9 mm, .40 (used market, I think they dropped these from the current lineup), or .45, though I've no experience with the larger versions. I think the 9 mm is the sweet spot with this gun. There is an option for optics-ready, though I prefer the iron sights, and the guns do have a short rail underneath for a light. All variations have a grip safety, but no external thumb safety. There is just enough steel in these guns to give them a reassuring heft and reduce muzzle rise, and I find them to be extremely accurate for their size. https://www.springfield-armory.com/xd-series-handguns/xd-s-mod-2-osp-handguns/ The flush magazine holds 7 rounds of 9 mm, if extra length doesn't hurt concealability for you, there are 8 and 9 round magazines available--which also improve the grip, as you can get your little finger solidly onto the gun. Specs on the iron-sighted 9 are: 3.3" bbl, 6.3" overall length, 4.4" high with flush mag, 0.9" wide. Weigth 21.5 oz. MSRP $440

1 pointI am wondering what folks think about this. As previously mentioned my family was considering a relocation to NC and may now have opportunity to execute. I did some research and am not sure how comfortable I am with it in the present market. First, NC is a "buyer beware" real estate state and part of that is that there is a fee due at offer acceptance called Due Diligence (passed into law back in 2011 from what I read), which is supposedly to compensate the seller because the house has to come off the market for inspections, and also protect them against buyers walking away from the deal. The problem is that with rare exception can you get that money back should you find something seriously wrong with the house. In the triangle area the MINIMUM you have to offer is $25k now and upward to $50k (was $5k-$10k pre-COVID). People are apparently buying houses like this sight unseen, which is nuts IMHO. Second, is appraisal risk. Due to bidding wars prices can easily escape the appraised values which means more cash at signing. And you won't know until after you've already paid the DD fee above. Third, prices in the triangle are up over >=75% in the last two years from what I can tell. Where I am currently here in the PRNJ it's probably more like 25%. Given the aroma of 2008 I am not sure I want to buy now and end up being late to the game and then taking a big equity hit when (not if) things correct. My feeling is that the correction will be more down there and therefore it's better to wait. Fourth, mortgage rates are going crazy, more hikes are on the way, and the economy may go (further) in the toilet. While I don't expect rates to drop any time soon, in a couple years we will be in an even better place financially so rates are less of a concern overall. Fifth, given the limited supply of houses and how quickly things go pending, actually getting down there to see things and put in an offer will be challenging to say the least. There are some other complicating factors but from an actual purchase perspective, these are the main ones.

0 pointsFunny, my local PD asked me for a pay stub or business card as well. I gave it to them just to keep the process moving, but what if i was unemployed, self-employed, or FT student??
