mipafox 438 Posted January 6, 2013 To update, it seems the soonest Harrisburg PA rally will be January 23. There is no Feb 8 in the works. And, Yes, people will be carrying ARs as well as sidearms. Still not sure what Capitol Police will do with the ARs if you go inside. They say they can only check handguns. That is illegal, people are going to call them out on it, but anybody from NJ wanting to go inside probably won't want to deal with that. At least have a plan to leave your rifles with somebody outside if you bring rifles and plan to go inside to lobbying legislators (or to learn how to do it). The rallies seem to be outside. Info can be found on PAFOA: http://forum.pafoa.org/political-138/announcements/

Wojo 98 Posted January 7, 2013 I really hope there is a better turn out then the one we had a few years ago down in Washington DC. I was assigned to 'escort' Larry Platt, GOA President at the Million Gun Owners Rally and then the open carry rally in VA just off of Reagan International Airport's runway. We only had a few thousand in DC and a few hundred open carring rifles in VA. To say I was ansy providing protection with all those firearms around would be an understatement. My biggest concern was all the snipers on the surrounding roof-tops watching us in DC. After the events were winding down, several of the US Park Police at both events told me that we were one of the most polite and respectful rallies they ever had. So, let's make a showing, but remember to give the media and LEO's NOTHING to write about as far as bad behavior.
DirtyDigz 1,812 Posted January 7, 2013 I'm in for 2/8 in Trenton, just confirmed I can get the day off. Should we organize a caravan down from North Jersey?
mipafox 438 Posted January 7, 2013 So, let's make a showing, but remember to give the media and LEO's NOTHING to write about as far as bad behavior. They don't need it, they'll just make shit up. Like they did with the Tea Party rallies.
mcbethr 42 Posted January 7, 2013 I'm in. I just got the day off. My 9 year old son will be with me. He needs to witness this process firsthand.
Underdog 1,593 Posted January 7, 2013 There needs to be a peaceful rally of the likes never seen before next week in Washington DC. Forget about Trenton. Numbers are needed to go to Washington. And, this rally needs to be brought to the attention of the American people in alternate ways, as the MSM won't publicize it. There is a reason we have a Constitutional government to limit the government's powers over the people. If Americans don't believe it is obsolete, then we need to unite. Wojo 98 Posted January 7, 2013 The MSM completed ignored us. I will post some pics of the abyssmal turn out. I plan on attending this event, but if I am taking a day off, going to DC isn't that much further down the road then Trenton once you are in the car. I will post some pictures later on when I am back at my PC. Heller was there and what a nice guy and a character. FWIW - IF you plan to go to DC, park at Reagan International and take the train over. Parking is safer and cheaper than in downtown DC. And you can always go inside the A/P to take a leak and grab a cup of java.
bry@n 195 Posted January 7, 2013 Smart idea about parking at the airport. I would be down to go to DC. I would make a fun trip out if it.

PM2116 0 Posted January 7, 2013 It's highly likely I will be getting knee surgery in the last week of January, so I'll be unable to attend. To make up for it, I'm making phone calls and giving out information on the rally to every gun owner I know. Good Luck all

Just a thought, could try one of the many commuter lots off of 95 or 195 in MD, then take the train instead of driving past DC to DCA and coming back by train. I've done that in the past. http://www.marctracker.com/PublicView/location.jsp
Wojo 98 Posted January 7, 2013 I looked at the commuter lots to met up with Mr. Pratt. But, like NJ, some lots can fill up before 0600. The airport has lots of parking and that train stop is a major one. Again, the benefit of having tight security for your parked car, places to eat and ample bathrooms is a big plus before starting the ride home and draining that large cup of Joe once you arrive. Yep, not disagreeing Scott, just throwing out other options. Agree that lots can be full.
Old Glock guy 1,127 Posted January 7, 2013 Just signed up and took the day off from work. Can we organize some kind of NJGF meet-up down there?
mipafox 438 Posted January 7, 2013 Do we need to sign up? Like, I can't go if I don't? I don't want to speak for them, but let me do it. No. Of course not. If you don't want to sign up, 'cause that's the way you roll, then show up and tell them you are Freddie Mercury. Or tell them to get on a step stool and bite you. I'm actually considering coming out. there's nothing in PA that day so why TF not. I don't like going to jersey at all, but I might schedule some business in the capitol or make a small deviation to see my grandmother in her nursing home. Wojo 98 Posted January 8, 2013 Some pics from the 'Restore the Constitution' National Rally in DC April 19, 2010...let's hope more people are motivated this go around. For Trenton, we should carry pistol holsters with hammers in them...just sayin. Larry Pratt talking with Stewart Rhodes from OathKeepers having a discussion on things. That's me with the orange Shoot-n-See over a nice lung shot. Heller giving the media an earful...that was the highlight of my day. Mr. Pratt and myself where I was legally carrying literally a couple hundred yards from the DC boundary.

M1152 713 Posted January 9, 2013 Does anybody know if the Riverline will drop me off anywhere near the event. I'm trying to avoid driving in the city if possible. I hate city's. Trenton parking will be dicey so IMO the Riverline would be a smart play for you guys coming from South Jersey. Take a look here google says .9 miles and 20 minute walk but I say 10 ~ 12 minute walk max, get on and stay on East & West State Street, don't detour off.. Edit 1: Just to be clear the Riverline is across the street from the Main Train station, I couldn’t add the Riverline as destination Edit 2 : for clarity Barring no winter storms or emergencies I will be there as well
