ryan_j 0 Posted February 19, 2014 http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/local/wp/2014/02/19/for-chris-christie-a-smart-gun-problem/ So the Armatix IP1, a smart gun that requires you to wear a goofy watch, is now for sale in California. Weinberg now writes the AG to activate NJ's smart gun law, because this gun is for sale. Chances that the AG will do it? I don't know. But it's 2014, and if it's certified, you have until 2017 to get all the "dumb" guns you want.
fumanchu182 23 Posted February 19, 2014 If it's activated, I'm leaving the state, no doubt about it. I'll sell everything I own to make a good down payment on a condo in Florida. With that being said the exception is my guns.
diamondd817 827 Posted February 19, 2014 I'm going to write Weinberg and tell her we she can go.
DevsAdvocate 112 Posted February 19, 2014 Go for it... just another case to bring to the SCOTUS. I don't see how this is allowable following Heller or McDonald.
Silence Dogood 468 Posted February 19, 2014 More legislation that will lead to more firearms sales (increasing exponentially before the deadline) after which Whineberg will be declared "Gun Salesworman of the Year."
Hooligan 0 Posted February 19, 2014 Once again, NJ politicians off in their own little world. They really believe NJ is the only one who's doing it right and ignoring the rest of the country.
Blacksmythe 71 Posted February 19, 2014 Great another reason for over priced hand guns in NJ.....

Luckybird 0 Posted February 19, 2014 The story of an iPhone: low battery warning...better find a charging station soon...oops too late...the operating system just shut down, sorry. I wonder if the guns will come with a docking station to charge the batteries.....

raz-0 1,259 Posted February 19, 2014 IT got approved. Where can you buy one. Personally, I say go ahead and activate it. I welcome stupid indefensible laws.
A-Tech 8 Posted February 19, 2014 I love that I can now call my guns dumb. Obviously they aren't smart enough to shoot someone without my intelligence now.

Fred2 367 Posted February 19, 2014 Does anyone have the text of the law? The gun in question recognizes the wrist sender, which is not the same thing as the registered owner of the gun So, the gun is not as smart as you think it may be.
ryan_j 0 Posted February 19, 2014 An easy way around this (I guess) is to take up part time residence in another state and make NJ your secondary residence. I wonder how that will work. Hmm. Anyway, do you honestly see any criminal following that law? Yes, I know it's about the children... but you think the criminal who left his piece with the serial number rubbed off at his baby mama's apartment for his kid to play with will obey this law? ManWithBeard 2 Posted February 19, 2014 I found out about the smart gun law last November. Promptly found it what it takes to buy a firearm in NJ. Filed the paperwork and now it's just a waiting game to buy "dumb" guns.
