raz-0 1,259 Posted June 13, 2017 yeah these aren't obscure for the most part. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who liked the park is mine. I'll see that with "black moon rising" Still tommy lee jones, much more obscure. Ones I haven't seen: Ice Pirates Suburbia (director later brought you wayne's world, black sheep, etc.). I'll also put in a joh cryer tri-fecta dudes hiding out Penn & Teller get killed.

Mrs. Peel 7,157 Posted June 13, 2017 Really? People don't know some of these? I think we're really saying some of the younger puppies on here don't know them! And just like that... suddenly, I feel old. Ditto: Bat 21, Taps (But pls name Timothy Hutton to that Taps actors list --- he had the leading role!) Also: Dressed to Kill, Body Double & Blow Out (YUGE Brian DePalma fan - sexy Hitchcockian fare) Plus: I'll have to look it up... cuz it was pretty early, maybe 70's?... Midnight Express (great movie, great soundtrack) Edit: Drop Midnight Express, 70s... Add: Birdy (offbeat, but very interesting), The River's Edge (shocking and depressing), and... and... Blood Simple. Must stop! Could go all evening!

Mrs. Peel 7,157 Posted June 13, 2017 And... And... I can't stop... Breaker Morant and Gallipoli. Not yugely or even bigly popular in U.S. Both are Aussie films based on true wartime events and well worth renting.

I am having a hard time separating 80s movies that I like and 80s movies that are "unheard" of. If you haven't seen it, watch "The Lighthorsemen", I think you can find the whole movie on YouTube. Very much in a similar vein as Gallipoli and Breaker Morant.
