Exercising your right to remain silent does not give a police officer probable cause to search your car Telling a police officer that you have a gun in your car also would not give them probable cause to search your car unless you were a known prohibited person. If it is legal for you to own why would it give police officers probable cause to search your vehicle if you have it in your vehicle and tell the truth when asked. So much paranoia in this thread!

I usually ask when I am searching someone: "Do you have anything on you or in your pockets that can hurt me? Box cutter from work, needles, hand grenades, nuclear bombs?" This usually gets a chuckle and I can feel the tension go out of the person I am searching. If I don't feel that relaxation, it's a clue. So much derp in this thread. Telling a cop you have a gun in the car is not PC to search anything. Fishnut is dead nuts right. It's easy - Transport within the law. Don't lie. You have nothing to worry about.

I've been asked but only because I was rear ended coming home from shooting clays. 3 shotguns in the front passenger compartment of my jeep. 2 in socks and 1 with no case, all unloaded. Cop looked at the guns and asked me if they were unloaded which I responded yes because they were. That was the end of the discussion about guns. Honestly I hope I get pulled over one day and some rookie cop decides to arrest me for legally transporting guns. I'll pull a Mr Dow and fall and break my jaw. When my lawyer is done with them I'll open the first NJGF range and you all can come and shoot for free!

Soooooo What's Your Interpretation of the 2 email correspondence between NH non resident permit holders and the Pa AG office that are posted in this thread? Fake news??? No offense but it seems like your trying pretty hard to not make any friends on this forum and your succeeding

I've never been asked whether I have any guns in the vehicle, but I wonder if responding with "I don't have anything illegal in the vehicle" would fly? You're sort of evading the question, and I'm sure some officers would catch it, but as long as you're within an exemption, you're not lying. Your next step would obviously be to politely decline any requests to search you or your vehicle. The biggest thing IMO is to drive within the laws so you don't get pulled over in the first place. Then, don't give the officer probable cause, i.e. keep the inside of your car clean, and make sure your guns are cased (but not in "gun cases") or, ideally, in the trunk where s/he cannot see them.

It's hard NOT to have fun at these events. Everyone bustin clays and then chit-chattin with Fishnut like 10 year old school girls.

Someone call the AG and ask if it's illegal to lie to a cop.
  17. 2 points
You don't have to answer that question. Politely decline any invitations to discuss what is in your vehicle.

If our gun laws are so tough, how did this happen? Outraged mother June Rodgers of Millville blames bail reform for the murder of her son. He was shot to death on a street in Vineland in April after a verbal dispute with a man driving a car. Cops arrested career criminal Jules Black, who’d been picked up on a separate gun charge four days before, and released with no bail.

Obstruction for what Ray posted would be a hard sell to a judge at best, and most likely completely inappropriate to even consider Caveat: We can "what if" this to death but it all depends on why the car was stopped and what questions the driver was refusing to answer.

"......all the muzzle loaders the Fudd rely on...... the shotguns with slug barrels.... .69 caliber.....and bigger....get scooped up...it will serve the 'sportsmen' right and get what they deserve for their apathy." Nah, Anthony Mauro of the NJOA will take Don Norcross on a scuba adventure, then take Stephen Sweeney out for a steak dinner and will triumph a compromise before the 11th hour. The NJOA will be heralded as the savior, and will continue to befuddle the fudd's.

The Guardian is in the house! Here are some pics for those interested. Rifle locks up like a bank vault. It just wreaks of precision manufacturing. If anyone would like to discuss how to make this rifle theirs, please reach out to me. If you would like to see it, it is on display at the store. The Atlas Bipod is not included with the rifle (Its my personal Bipod) but it could be added to the sale if someone had to have it. Not pictured but included is a very nice Drag Bag from Cadex. A Cadex rifle owner just recently posted up whacking some smallish steel targets at 1100 yards with his own Guardian in 6.5CM .

Ammo won't matter. Most guns would melt or warp anyway. The best you could hope for is that the fire is put out quickfastnotslow. To me, fire ratings for gun safes is over rated as well as how many modern guns would fit in it.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It eventually reaches a point of diminishing returns. The projectiles are so close: Diameter: 9mm = ~.355 cal, so a difference of .045" in circumference between 9mm and .40 S&W. Now, let's look at weight. We'll use the heavier end of duty rounds: 9mm 147gr = .336oz .40 180gr = .411oz So again a miniscule difference of .075oz. And, lets look at velocity. I'll use what I know, the ammo I issue my people Federal HST: 9mm 147gr 1000fps at muzzle .40 180gr 1010fps at muzzle from a Glock 17/22 size gun. So, we are taking about a difference of 10fps in muzzle velocity from projectiles with a .075 oz different in weight and a .045" difference in circumference. How much of a difference can there be? IMO, the cause for the initial disparity between the rounds was the 9mm has been around for so long, it took a while to catch up to a round that was developed relatively recently. Also, the rounds were developed on different tracks with different desired terminal effects. I don't believe the 9mm was really underperforming, it was designed with a different set of performance parameters based on different set of TTPs that were based on what we knew of gunfighting at the time.

Troy, This thread is the end result of folks on their phones (and home computers/laptops) NOT reading the other poster's comments. Ray said it best: "The Cannibals are among us"! Name calling, childish behavior, and utter stupidity blended with naive gun owners, some of whom are probably trolls. Maybe it's time to reconsider pulling the plug? Rosey

I was in total devastation when Cane denied the Utah CCW back when... that was my lil taste of what a gun-toting free American truly felt like... that sun felt good in my face... and working in N Philly... it came as a plus.... Since, I've learned to deny myself ... other than to hope for HR38.... But learning of NH non-res CCW... well.. here comes the sun again...

To the OP. Recommend you not take the criticism personally and do become a supporter and contributor to this community. There is much to be learned and many good people here. With that said, I must say I too cringed at the title of your post. The declarative nature of it did not help this get off on the right foot. (can that be re-worded?) Regarding the other poster's suggestion to calling the PA AG's office for clarification, for the reasons others have already expressed; in this particular case, I too strongly view that as a very bad idea. I would also like to draw your attention to the various very lengthy threads on NH permitting and recognition, as well as the discussion of this topic on quite a few GunForHire podcasts featuring Scott Bach and others. You may find those resources helpful on this topic and more generally. They, in their totality, have left me feeling confident of the NH permit's validity in Pa, without me personally playing lawyer and trying to analyze the wording of statutes and reciprocity agreements.

I am not into politics.... never was, and still only dabble at the edge. But from what I am seeing for our future in this corrupt state, I want out. As soon as I can cut ties with NJ, the house will go up for sale. And it has much more than gun laws to do with it.... I cannot fathom why in order to own a nice home in NJ, it must include $1000/mo or more in Property taxes. When other states can do it for 75% less. This alone could be the reason for leaving.....

Damn I hate to say this but I agree with Zeke. The defeatist pussy attitude many of you show combined with the amount of stupid gun owners who still vote Dem is why this state sucks. Trump won because the working class actually voted. If the working class gets out and votes in NJ we will at least get another GOP governor. Maybe this time he won't be a RINO. A lot of work considering you need to match the bullet type and weight with the box flap info AND The brass must match the box, and both must closely resemble brand new! And when the range-nazi marks the cardboard box when he checks it, you're SOL on using that box again. I'll stick with my outdoor ranges, esp now that Cumberland Riflemen has opened its Pistol Plinking Range, equipped with steel targets at 20yds There are 2 dueling trees (one .22 rimfire, one centerfire) and a 6-plate rack with more planned as the newly opened (Black Friday) range gains popularity. After sending a box of .22LR into the dueling tree with my S&W 41, the thought occurred to me that I might NOT own enough rimfire ammo!!
