djg0770 481 Posted May 3, 2010 How many of you have begun to reply to a post, typed it all out and stopped just short of hitting SUBMIT? I have begun to ask myself "Am I really adding to this discussion, or..." (except when I'm poking fun at Matt or RayRay)

I have begun to ask myself "Am I really adding to this discussion, or..." (except when I'm poking fun at Matt or RayRay) I predict this post will have no replies. kenw 293 Posted May 3, 2010 At least a quarter of my responses never get submitted. Sometimes it's just not worth the effort to keep banging on a subject, and it's enough just to see my response written out.

Shane45 807 Posted May 3, 2010 What I was going to type but then didnt, but then did so you can see.... I do this very thing as a matter of habit, usually when I start proof reading what I wrote. Sometimes I forget to though
bbk 188 Posted May 3, 2010 I do it frequently myself. I realize that I'm typing a post that nobody else probably gives a s--- about, so I save the people the trouble :shhh:
71ragtopgoat 23 Posted May 3, 2010 I do it often ,usually I'm entering an opinion in the middle of to posters arguing and say what the heck do I want to get in the middle of this argument for. I must admit I'm a sucker for a good debate !!!

Blcklightning 11 Posted May 4, 2010 How about typing something up. Only to hit "preview" to make sure that what you wrote doesn't look all messed up and then have someone else beat you, to what you wanted to say.
Ray Ray 3,566 Posted May 4, 2010 or hit the backspace button when your finished typing a long, drawn out reply and delete all that you typed.
maideneddie 35 Posted May 4, 2010 It happens more often than not. Go to proof read what I wrote and end up deciding not to post all together. Sometimes it is better to say nothing than to say something if it isn't worth it!
tbtrout 141 Posted May 4, 2010 That is the beauty of having to hit submit. It gives me time to think about what I have written. I do have an arrogant disposition and temper sometimes.
Maksim 1,504 Posted May 4, 2010 yeah..... maybe once or twice I would really think about how to word something... but mostly, I just post. But on things that are important or have bigger consequences.... then I think and confirm with others before posting.
Caine 147 Posted May 4, 2010 I do it constantly. Much more so in the last couple of months as I kept finding myself either being obnoxious, coming across like I'm lecturing someone, or not adding anything worthwhile to a thread. ETA: On occasion I've started to reply to someone in a thread and have instead sent a PM to the person. More often than not, I do this when I feel someone is acting like an a$shat, but also realize that it's not my place to call them out publicly. But, I've also stopped doing that as well, cuz it's really not my place to play daddy/internet police publicly or privately. So, umm.. yeah.. haha

I have begun to ask myself "Am I really adding to this discussion, or..." (except when I'm poking fun at Matt or RayRay) this is actually one of the only sites that has happened to me on.. normally i just post away but things are so quiet here it gives the impression that you are really not supposed to post unless you have something of substantial value to add.. lol
