Boar's Head natural casing for grilling - cant beat that crunch. Sabretts is the dirty water dog. Horseradish mustard and sauerkraut on a potato roll is the best, raw onions and a dill pickle works too.

Thorn Apple Valley Keilbasa dogs were my favorite, but  think TAV may have gone

out of business.

That being said - I will take a Kiebasa dog with spicy brown mustard

over a traditional hotdog anyday!

I actually like 7-11 hot dogs..  You have to make sure they give you a fresh Bun..  

 

Wawa hot dogs are terrible..

Worked on the elevator at sabretts jersey city early 1980's  use to hit up their little store for dogs and onion sauce and bring them home to the shore..

I did some work at the sabrett outlet that was on rt37 in toms river and asked why why hot dogs were better from a cart the reply was you don't cook hot dogs .1boil water 2 drop dogs in 3 put lid on 4 turn off gas as soon as lid is on 5 wait 10 min and serve .I will change brands if I cant find natural casings

Thumanns ROCK!!!!! On the grill till they split. Pan fryed is second...........nothing better than a grilled dog.... anyone try Gennies Weinnies in Branchburg there really good try the Texas weiner a little diffrent than your normal Texas ( Chile onions mustard) theirs has a Sabbrett dog wrapped in bacon ( I get mine well done) I am not sure what there called but its onions in a type of tomato/ BBQ sauce with melted cheese.....freaking awesome........

My favorite is Crif Dogs on St. Marks in NYC. (Added advantage of PDT through the phone booth) spicy redneck can't be beat. Tater tots too... Not traditional but F'ing awesome.

My buddy's dad used to have his own hot dog cart. Awesome dogs, Chicago Style, Ruben dogs, you name it. He had some delicious custom dogs. Second best was a little stand that was a stone's throw from the Buckingham Fountain in Chicago. They had at least a half dozen different styles of hot dogs to choose from.

 

Believe the Chicago dogs were Vienna. If I buy dogs it's Hewbrew National.

While the front stand up counter is cool and quick go inside the restaurant. It's like walking back in time to the late 1940's with all the vintage signs. Plus you can grab a cold brew to go with your dogs and sit and relax while you eat them.

Sabretts is it. My whole family is originally from bayonne. Yup right off the boat and straight to bayonne. Anyway. There is a place there And i forget the name but. It was famous for sabretts and yooho. What a meal. Oh yeah. I have high blood pressure. also been to hot dog johnnys and stewarts sucks anymore.
