Two more years for 15 round mags...that done??

Recommended Posts

I hope...maybe even further south. Just not Virginia any more.

Why not Virginia?  I just made an offer on a house there that was accepted today.  The reciprocity issues have been resolved and Virginia recognizes all of the previous CCW from other states. http://bearingarms.com/mcauliffe-signs-groundbreaking-concealed-carry-reciprocity-bill-va/

It's not the 15 round mags, it's the sum of all changes planned for 2018. Did you not read the StarLedg article? New gas tax, tolls on 78/80, higher income tax, higher property tax, and on and on.this is not propaganda, this is from a dem interview. This will negatively affect property values then you truly will be stuck here for the ride. Yes, it's not easy to move, you have to balance what kind of life you have here vs what kind of life you want. Many people are happy here, many are not.

Do you want your kids to establish themselves here? Maybe their current friends are not so important after all. Some may want to keep the family, current and future generations, here. Others want a different climate for their children.

I give the 2A guys all the credit in the world for pushing that back. But its a sign to whats coming. The antis are move away from the DC area (because of the crime. Go figure) If your young enough a bit further south would be better.

Texas comes to mind...lol

2 more years till we have safe act plus...it will ban everything

Agreed. It won't be just magazine limits. Read New York's SAFE Act. There is nothing to prevent that from coming here given the people presently in power and Christie's replacement looming on the horizon.

I can't wait for the power plant I operate to close on 2019. The money it pays me is the only reason I'm here. Yes I have a wife, two kids and our families are both here. This state blows and it's sad cause I was born and raised on the shore and hate to leave. Carolinas here I come soon.

Wow, are you going to wring your hands a bit  more before you collapse in a puddle?

To hear you guys talk, there is no hope in the entire country, everyone is getting lined up to a wall in two years, and even though things are so horrible most of you are planning to run away,

No wonder the "dems" are going to win, although the totalitarians is a better term as both parties can be screwy about these things. Hell, they aren't going to win, they've already won, because despite repeated wins on most fronts, you folks are cowering in fear in your foxholes about what might happen in two years.

You do realize when the opposition reads this thread (as I'm sure they do) you are are warming up their gut with glee and happiness, right? Shit like this thread is providing comfort to the enemy. But hey, I hear lots of people open up their legs to the enemy when in town.

NJ Members.....don't leave NJ until you vote in 2017.  The amazing thing about politics is that a statistical majority on paper doesn't translate to an election win. Here in NJ, a large percentage of registered democrats NEVER make it to the polls.  The "low hanging fruit" are "pressure-registered" as the politicians meet/greet & promise and then do not turn out in November to vote (see statistics below).

This is a clear advantage to gun owners and Pro-2nd Amendment advocates (assuming you will vote for a Republican Governor to keep your 2nd Amendment Protected).  I understand that aligning to a political party is broader than any single issue (2nd Amendment) in most cases, but this is a defining moment in history, and forces larger and wealthier than the NRA will be mobilizing the "low hanging fruit" for the next NJ Gubernatorial Election.

If you want to stay in NJ and keep your current 2nd Amendment (albeit abbreviated) rights, Vote for the Republican Governor 2017.

DON'T BE COMPLACENT, BLOOMBERG WAS LAST SEEN HEADING EAST THROUGH THE LINCOLN TUNNEL, his 1st target in November 2016 --> Congressman Scott Garrett (Rated "A" by the NRA) .

Here are the recent voting statistics in summary (followed by links to the State of  NJ Official Postings):

Governor Race Results 2001:   Democratic Votes:  1,256,000   (57%)  Republican Votes:    928,000   (42%)  OUCH !!!
Governor Race Results 2005:   Democratic Votes:  1,224,000   (55%)  Republican Votes:    985,000   (44%)  ouch

Governor Race Results 2009: Democratic Votes:  1,087,000   (48%)  Republican Votes: 1,175,000  (52%)   winner

Governor Race Results 2013: Democratic Votes:     809,978   (39%)  Republican Votes: 1,279,000  (61%)   Victory

The percentage of democratic votes in 2009  as a percent of all registered democrats  -->: 62%
The percentage of republican votes in 2009 as a percent of all registered republicans  -->: 111%

The percentage of democratic votes in 2013  as a percent of all registered democrats  -->: 44%
The percentage of republican votes in 2013 as a percent of all registered republicans  -->: 117%

48% of NJ Voters are UNAFFILIATED with either party....48% !!!!!

If we don't convince the Unaffiliated to vote for our 2nd Amendment Rights, then Michael Bloomberg and his legions of  "Everytown for Gun Safety Confiscation" will control all branches of the NJ Government and there will be no Executive VETO Power to stop the Sweeny/Weinberg machine.

The Right to Vote, like The Right To Bear Arms was provided to each of us in the United States Constitution......"Ignore it and it WILL go away; Invoke it and you WILL always have a say".  (hmmm, I might coin this phrase)

I don't think the majority of us are running away because of 2A rights.... As mentioned many times, it's a multitude of things. High taxes, stupid laws, crowding, traffic, crooked politicians, (yea, they can possibly be voted out), gun laws, etc.,etc. Put them all together and you have great reasons to move. People here need to understand that. There is a reason 10,000 people are leaving NJ per month. And it ain't because gun laws...

^^^^^^^Thank God there are some people with the sack left to fight...this country was never about running away from problems..it's always been about fixing them

When this country was started, everyone was jammed in the east. They did not like it so they fled to the west, and kept fleeing until they hit the Pacific. Then the libtards took over so they are now fleeing back to the east, so far they only hit Colorado. The people who stayed in the east also noticed what the libtards are doing so they are heading south, so far just entering Virginia.

We need to move to head them off! NJ was lost decades ago, but it's not too late to move and help save the other 45+ states!

Never said it was just about fighting for 2a...you fight for fixing everything wrong with govt..which includes all that you mentioned...

Im also not naive enough to believe that moving someplace where everyone and their grandmother is moving to from NY,NJ CT etc, won't in due time suffer from the same problems of taxation, progressivism and overcrowding. When the massive migration to these areas comes full circle and the plywood canyons of tightly packed communities filled with migrants start needing services and what not..and start bringing their ideas with them..then what move again?

During the last primary in SC there was a whole news segment about the shift in demographics in SC from the migration. Think your safe in Iowa where thousands turned out for a socialist?. Tennessee, who delivered us Al Gore?, Arkansas...the Clintons?

A county wide map of voting in NJ show that most were red...hell, we delivered a Republican governor for 2 years (albeit not as conservative as we would have liked but the alternative would undoubtedly been worse). If we just got off our asses and voted once in a while then maybe things can be different.

And Vlad is 100% right. .the chatter from grown men about what might happen in 2 years is quite embarassing.

I have one permit coming, should I even really waste money with a Glock 19 or M&P 9mm? If the ban will be eventually go all the way down to 5 rounds, what's the point?

I guess a LOT can happen in 2 years and its not 100% certain that we will have a democratic Govenor.

Why not have full capacity mags in the hiding then? One over capacity is the same as twenty-three over.

OMG dude, maybe the shooting sports aren't for you. If you are so terrified that you might lose some rights in the future that you chose to not exercise them now, may you need to take up stamp collecting.

Agreed. My girl and I moved to FL a year ago. It wasn't just 2A. It was all of the things mentioned above as well as the weather. Just hated dealing with snow and winter.

I got laid off from a good paying job and told my girl if we're gonna do it, that was the time. Granted, unfortunately for me, there are no flying jobs around here and the industry in general is slow, so I won't be making much, but she's making more than in NJ.

As far as 2A, since moving here I bought a .30 cal can and built a 300 Blk SBR. Have a .45 cal can on order and gonna register another lower to build a 5.56 SBR.

For those that haven't shot suppressed and played with the fun stuff, you don't know what you're missing. If I had a good paying job here, I'd be looking for something with the fun switch. Hopefully down the road.

2A wasn't the main reason, but I'm definitely more happy living here as far as that goes.

You need to understand something. We are getting near our retirement. A lot of us are. I fought all my life for what I want. Nobody, not my parents, the political system or otherwise gave me a fooking thing! Not squat. I don't have the time or ambition to stay here and fight any more than I have to. I will do what little I can and thats the best. I have fought enough. So if you have the time and gumption to stay here, God Bless you! But if I/we wait till we are all retired and get stuck here, we will go broke within months.

That's the truth of it and you young folks need to understand it. By all means, if you want to stay, fight for everything, do it! If not just for you but for your family and kids.

I left for many reasons. Only one of which is the crap gun laws but another straw on the proverbial camel's back.

I didn't leave my career or my job. I instead commute 45 minutes from the west instead or 55 minutes from the east.

Now I carry every day when I get home from work and all weekend. My insurance rates are way down and so is my cost of living.

And my Senator actually cares about what I have to say. I'll take that.

Are you kidding me? There really are members here that plan to move out of NJ if 15 round magazines are banned?? Come on guys, its just a hobby! I would think your family, friends and career are obviously more important than firearms!

My answer is some cannot move for the reasons you listed. For others this is just ONE more reason to leave. We already have shitty firearms laws that are possibly going to get worse. Then throw in high property taxes and the high cost of living and it’s like a bad trifecta. So no surprise there, those who can bail out will do so and you can’t blame them. Don’t take my word for it google “people leaving NJ” and you’ll get results like More people leave NJ than any other state, study shows

Well, I earned a very comfortable living here in NJ with a great secure job until retirement in 15 years or so. I certainly plan a move to either PA, DE, WY and SD upon retirement. We are leaning more towards Wyoming, but a lot can change in 15 years!

Agreed.  Of course, no one can say with certainty what is coming, but the likelihood is that we are in for a $h*tstorm of new anti-gun laws, as our legislators try to outdo those of NY, establishing "model legislation" for the rest of the nation.

That said, I'm seriously looking at Florida real estate.  Even if I don't move there right away, at least I want to have a place to keep my stuff.
