This is where rubber meets the road. The problem with "change providers if you dont like" is, in most places, there are no second or third providers / competition. WHY ? the problem circles back to Govt (whether local or other) giving exclusive rights to select parties. This goes back to the grand debate on no govt vs limited vs all-powerful govt. As much as we like to complain about "Internet", alternative media was propelled primarily because of availability of Internet. We all complain when Google / YouTube removes monetization channels for 2A guys. Now imagine them being put on a dialup connection speed (remember those days ?) while the snowflake videos are streamed at speed ? What if the content / speed filters are tweaked dynamically ? Anti-Firearm channels from YouTube work at normal speed but 2A channels from same YouTube stream at dead slow ? Do we suggest we change providers to a non-existing one ? To further the point, how would we feel if all NRA sticker vehicles are routed to single lane while rest are routed to high-speed 10 lane highway ?

Uhh, that was Christmas, not Thanksgiving. My sister came through with my mom’s bread recipe. One of my favorite memories of my mom was her baking bread at Thanksgiving. I am going to carry on the tradition, and make it for our Thanksgiving dinner.

Thanks guys. @Ray Ray, I am by NO means an expert on the pit, but I can churn out repeatable, tasty meats on my humble little PBC. That being said, once you put MY meat in your mouth, you’re gonna want to swallow!!

I have no use for a pickup but if I were interested in spending that much I'd buy a Raptor. A few friends have one and that is one impressive truck! @Rob0115 a Raptor would satisfy that 12 year old in you. It would mine!

Family traditions are often manifest through recipes . Historically, holidays are the few times of the year time the whole family, near and far, gathers and celebrates. The words festival and feast are very closely related. It is only through the gathering and the festival that we can maintain the continuity of tradition. It's kinda funny, I'm the only boy out of seven children and I'm the only one who knows most of my family recipes, both Sicilian and Irish. I find it somewhat tragic when family traditions die out with passing generations. I applaud you for carrying on the family tradition. I believe It's important we all have a tangible link to our past.

This will be my first Thanksgiving off in a long time (Yay promotion!). We are going to my Mom and Dad's for dinner. I'm going over early so she can teach me how to do everything. She is one hell of a cook but her health is on a rapidly accelerating decline. I want to make dinner for her and Dad next year at my house - because without some divine intervention, she won't be able to.

The problem with most regulations and laws for that matter, is that the name is the opposite of what they do. Something about Net Neutrality is telling me it is not neutral.

One of the very narrow and specific set of things that makes the shockwave and Tac-14 legal is the birdshead style grip. A letter went out to LE stating that both firearms, in their original configurations, are legal. Any modification that removes a component and replaces it with anything other than an exact duplicate is inviting trouble. How much trouble is anyone's guess. But I bet finding out would be expensive.

Don't be surprised if you hear a "no" - those agencies tend to be full of very left-leaning progressives and (understandably) they are leery of men calling in claiming anything (because they think it may be a crazy ex trying to get the location of the shelter, yada, yada, yada). So, let's see what they say. I'll be delighted if there's interest, but even if there's not... I still think it's possible for a local group (particularly a women's 2A group) to approach a local shelter. That might be a "softer" more effective approach. But we'll see! I'll be happy to be wrong... and appreciate your ready enthusiasm, Zeke. And glad you opened the thread Jack & Jill. It really is such an overdue thing. The 2A community should take the lead on this - we're all about self-reliance, etc. - it's a natural fit. And if someone chimes in and already IS doing this - so much the better!

Update: Two weeks ago I was contacted by LGS to let me know my replacement sight was in. Stopped there Saturday and they did the replacement install and refused to charge me for the work. So not exactly sure what happened here, but the end result is I have a properly installed sight and I am a happy customer, I was taken care of in the end. I did buy a case of ammo to show my appreciation.

I'll hopefully be able to document this build as it progresses. About 2 years ago I picked up a Remington 700 SPS Tactical in .223. 16.5" barrel (9 twist if it matters). It was a really fun little rifle and I enjoyed the hell out of it. I wound up upgrading some parts here and there but just couldn't get it to shoot as well as I would have liked. So, I pulled the barrel, cuz that's what you're supposed to do, right?? I've since gathered other parts and have sold a few things to make that happen. Where we sit: R700 S/A .223 bf---all stock McMillan A3/5 fully adjustable PTG AI pattern stealth bottom metal with a 10 round mag Weaver picatinny rail Harris bipod Vortex Viper HS/T 6-24 VMR-1 Rock Creek AMU/MTU 1/7 that I'll finish at 24-26" and thread for a brake. Barrel should be here today or tomorrow (11/20-21/17) The plan: I have a friend that has helped me with every phase possible in learning machine/metal work, that he can from a distance. He's located in Michigan. Licensed GS. Builds rifles on the side and works in a medical machine shop as his day job. He's offered to have me head out to MI to build this rifle with me, every phase. From truing the action to cutting the threads and chamber. He's very good at what he does and meticulous as hell. To say that I'm honored and thrilled is an understatement especially given that no one in NJ is willing to help a guy learn. I'm heading out there in the middle of February as it's my slow time at work and I'll only need the one day off. So there it is. I'll grab some pics of the components shortly and the barrel when it arrives. For ammo, I'll be loading up Sierra TMK 77's for the time being and looking to stock up on Berger 80.5 Fullbore's in the future. This will be a paper plinker to 300 for most of it's time outside and hopefully to 750 on steel at least once a year. I'm currently in love with small caliber rifles. I'm hoping to learn to work on them at home as well and am currently tooling up for that. It's a very frustrating yet rewarding part of the hobby.

While our minds are occupied with Thanksgiving preparations and tying up loose ends at work, and the hustle and bustle of black friday shopping, this is what's happening right under our noses. Basically, one of the very few things that BO actually did right was to protect net neutrality. The former Comcast exec Ajit Pai is set to take regulatory power away from the federal and state government and make it so that ISPs can charge you a premium for normal internet speeds and if you don't pay you will be kicked down to a slower lower priority network. They are making deals with content providers like Netflix, Amazon and Hulu. From the actual inventor if the Internet The internet was created as an open source society and now the ISPs want to hijack it, set up toll roads and control your access to the WWW. If your ISP does not like a website, they can slow down your connection to a crawl, and there won't be a damn thing you can do about it.

Well I can be a Jackass too !! Well I seriously compete in F-Class and take it pretty seriously I like to finish at the top and work at it. Now all the precision I put on the side today and built an 8.5" BO pistol, suppressed, with a Binary Trigger and a brace. OM F'ing G...It's just like a machine pistol. Mag dumps... Holy sh!t...and at 25ft it's very controllable 8 out of 10 in a 4" circle.. Yep, I only load 10 at a time. Why? There's not enough time in the day to keep this fed. No pics yet. I'm going try and take a video. God love SC. Pricey but fun.

Wow, you and I are really aligned in our thinking! I've been noodling for awhile on the possibility of creating a relationship between one of the women's 2A groups/chapters in NJ - SAW or TWAW (or others I may not know of?) - and a local DV shelter. (Lordy, I wish I had more time!!) Not EVERYONE wants to get a gun. But they could offer various services... first, a class on basic personal & home security - locks, alarms, lighting, dog, etc. Then, a class on the various self-defense options available - pepper spray, tasers, firearms - with the plusses and minuses of each - so that people can decide for themselves what they're interested in... and follow-up instruction from there. I have some familiarity with the DV system, and frankly, I CRINGE at the really infantilizing attitude directed towards these women --- oh, honey, you need to get a temporary restraining order --- as though a piece of paper provides any real security? It's B.S. Let me tell you, if a guy has you scared enough that you're sitting in a damn shelter, you need a helluva lot more than a TRO!! And btw, for those who don't know, there's basically 2 kinds of DV shelters. Some are like prisons (but meant to keep people OUT) - no windows, remote location, cameras galore, bulletproof glass at the reception area, etc. Very intimidating when you think they need to be built that way! The other model is to have a series of homes in the community and women are rotated through them so that their S.O. doesn't know exactly which one they're at. It's pretty serious shit. (And yes, there have been MURDERS inside of DV shelters by determined ex's... so again... TRO, my ass!!)

while i respect what they're capable of........i don't care for them as they are now. thanks to epa regs, they're so $^^$ over complicated it's scary. they were intended to be just a plain old engine that would run on peanut oil. then esso(i think?) found that they could market the waste produced from refining gasoline as fuel for the diesel engine...thus diesel fuel. so now, you get to pay as much for a gallon of waste(diesel fuel) as you do for a gallon of the product which produced said waste.

For the morning I'll be out hunting pheasants Normally I fry the turkey outside while drinking as many beers as I can. There's only going to be 3 of us this year so fuck it we're going out for a buffet where I will continue the tradition of seeing how many beers I can drink in a short period of time LOL

Well in keeping with the new family traditions, the gang and I are headed up to try Rock Mountain Sporting Clays in Meshoppen, PA for an early round and then back in time for dinner. Nothing big, just a simple turkey dinner with sides. It's hard when most have to go to work on Friday, so decided years ago to cut back on the prep workload.

You don’t actually record per se. You tell it which shows are your favorites (as many as you want) and it just records every episode of them. There is not storage limits, but recordings are only kept for four weeks. But most convert to video on demand. Check their faqs.

No diesel in half tons. Ford says late 2018 using the same diesel as the Range Rover has, Ford developed it. I’m really looking for monster diesel power, that’s the most important thing. I look forward to burning more than my fair share of oil and piss all the friggin’ tree huggers.

Ed Craft according to the PAFOA thread. He wasn't such a bad guy there. Sounds like he had a terrible end of life. Constantly falling. I did not care for Mipa here but I wouldn't have wished bad upon him. Hopefully he is resting peacefully and out of pain.

with all due respect.. something has to be worth fighting for, for me to bother... I "gave up" also and left NJ.. why did I leave? * Cheaper cost of living * Cheaper rent/home prices * Less taxes * Pro 2A local government (AND community) * NFA * Less crowds and hassle I have friends and family in NJ.. that I respect.. and I think it sucks you guys get the shitty end of the stick over and over again.. but with that said.. stay and suffer with you for the sake of "being in the fight"? NO THANKS.. no interest at all.. I wish you guys the best... and if you choose to stay.. or "have to stay" more power to you.. but the problem will ALWAYS be the same.. To motivate change in law.. you need public support.. overwhelming public support is what drives action.. because catering to people equals votes.. * Most people where I lived in NJ were not gun owners.. Some of those people were completely against guns.. the ones that weren't totally against them didn't care enough to fight for them.. so all of those people are out in reference to supporting a pro 2A cause.. * Of the people that were gun owners.. most of those people were hunters.. if they could have a single shot rifle, and a shotgun.. they were completely content.. and some of those gun owners were actually AGAINST "military type machine guns that you have no reason to have" * Which left you with the smallest percentage.. gun owners that wanted gun rights.. that cared about it.. now at this point you have weeded out so much of the general population.. you were left with essentially no one.. a handful of people the government could bully into looking crazy to the rest of the public.. It is not a matter of will.. or desire at that point.. you are literally up against a mountain.. and that is why nothing will change for the positive.. because whenever there is a chance to "do something to protect the children".. like 2 round magazine limit.. for example.. the overwhelming majority of people either AGREE that its a good idea.. OR simply don't care enough to even be involved.. and the tiny minority barely has a voice.. When you guys talk about getting purchase permits in NJ.. I essentially here "are you sure you really need a gun" type attitude.. every effort in the world to make it a hassle.. When I went to the police station over my stolen Saiga.. the local chief and I talked guns for like a half an hour... in a POSITIVE way.. It is the entire mindset that is different... it is hard to change the mentality of people..
