Just remember, not all of these people getting guns for the first time are leftist gun haters being converted. In fact I am sure that many, if not most are middle of the road folks that just never got a gun because they didn't feel the need to do so previously. They weren't necessarily against guns, just not really engaged on the discussions on either side. It's a good opportunity to show that there's not a gun community separate from them but that we are all just part of their local community, we aren't all some shady societal fringe (you all know who you are ) that needs to be looked at sideways but are their neighbors, co-workers and friends. FYI.....day 14, my son today tells me his cough has stopped and he's feeling much better today....he still has 2 days worth of Doxicyclene to take but the "Z" Pak was finished yesterday...still home quarantined naturally and his wife is feeling better also....she has a very mild case. guess the combo of Doxi and "Z" has been good.

Welcome. Impressive turn around. Congrats. You state you're a first time gun owner. Please be safe; ask questions; there are some quality youtube channels and other resources that can offer immediate education prior to you taking a in-person class (if you choose). There's also some dangerous BS out there by people claiming to be experts. Many cases you can tell the difference, ask here if not. Also, please consider supporting the NJ based 2A orgs that made it possible for you to exercise your rights; face it, Murphy would send the NJSP in a door to door confiscation if he thought he could get away with it.

Can't wait till this is over and people start calling to see if we buy, or trade used guns? There will be a shit load of people wanting 900.00 for that S&W M&P-15 they paid $1100.00 for in their panic buys................

...to be brief..... my son is on day 14 home quarantine and has been taking Doxicyclne and "Z" Pak....last day of "Z" is tomorrow...Doxy twice a day for 10 days....says this AM, canker sores that developed from the virus near his gum line have started to heal, has less of a cough and says he's feeling much better....his wife has a much milder case with just a minor cough.

My take on the outcome of this buying spree: Essentially, people don't really change. Just the situation. Group 1. The existing owner who just bought more. They are going to be exactly like they were before. No change, no impact. Group 2. The person who wasn't anti-gun but never actually got around to be a gun owner. Don't expect a lot of 2a support, but they will probably take it personal when a law is passed and someone informs them that they haven't been paying attention and are now a criminal. At that point they will take it really personally IMO as they will view it as an attack on them. They might be useful being backlash at some point in the future. Group 3. Guns are evil, but right now a necessary evil. They will engage in cognitive dissonance after the fact just like they are right now to go buy a gun. They will squawk with rage if it ever comes back on them and makes them a felon because how can this happen to someone with all the right think? But they will vote for all the shit that will lead to that problem in the first place. Outside of those in financial distress because of this trying to get some cash to keep body and soul together, most won't get rid of them. They will be lazy and not pay attention and let it sit in the closet or wherever outside of something intruding into their lives to motivate them otherwise.

You know when restaurants are allowed to open again, I doubt that all their clientele is going to come running back. Will restaurants have to 'social distance' their tables, thereby cutting occupation and revenue? Will that mean staff also runs at less than before? Can they operate on that reduced revenue? They had to ditch the inventory they had when closed; where's the money come from to restock? And so on. I saw Jon Taffer on Fox a few days ago, and he didn't paint a rosy picture for the restaurant and bar industry. Not in the next 12 months anyway. I credit him with some of the above. Seemed very likely. Oh, here we go. His interview is here.

I think this is closer to the truth. Pre coffee...bear with me. In a state like NJ, where it is required to jump through various hoops to get a FIOD card before one purchases even a long gun..I doubt that the vast majority of the recent purchases are by anti 2A people now buying AR-15s. IMHO, the vast majority of these purchasers, are solid 2A supporters who were already FOID card holders, who were, for whatever reason, late to the AR game. While we will get an uptick in gun owners, many, or most of them will not be ‘enthusiasts’. Most of them will not be pro 2A (as in ‘shall NOT be infringed’). They will not understand, nor care about, the importance of the 2A and why it exists in the first place. I know many liberal ‘gun owners’....these are gun owners in the respect that they have grandpops old over/under shotgun or daddy’s lever action deer rifle stuck in the back closet, hasn’t been used or touched in 40 years... They’ll tell you all day long how they ‘believe’ in your ‘right’ to own a firearm...after all, THEY do!! They just don’t think you should be able to own a semi-auto rifle, or a handgun...only the police, or the military need those... I DO think that we harbor a responsibility to foster them, teach them, and educate them on the 2A, and why it’s important. We are the mentors, we have to be the positive example.

This. I swear do people not realize what is locked in your trunk isn’t the cops business? If you get pulled over and your guns are securely locked in the trunk do you think they’re gonna know if you don’t tell them? seriously you have a right to remain silent, use it.

I disagree. I think you will see an uptick in revolvers and pump shotgun in 30 days or more. I think if they went through the trouble, thought they needed it, they will hold on to it.

So I woke up My dog is laying on the back patio covered in dirt with a rabbit in his mouth. The rabbit's not bloody, just dirty. My neighbor's kids raise blue ribbon show rabbits. I instantly knew it was one of theirs. So I took the rabbit away from my dog, rushed inside, and washed all the dirt off it before my neighbors could come home. It was stiff but I heard some animals play dead when they are afraid but I couldn't remember which ones. I took it and placed it back in one of the cages in their back yard then I ZOOMED back home. Not 30 minutes later I hear my neighbors screaming so I go out and ask them what's wrong? They tell me their rabbit died three days ago and they buried it but now it's back in the cage.

This company. Located in Bridgeton nj. Hand makes all landscaping tools on site. All types of shovels rakes hand carts and ball carts. They manufacture the rakes and shovels that all landscapers are in the know own. This is a great American company that makes everything in house. Thats why they’re still in full operation right now. No chinese or imported parts. For example. Go to Home Depot. Theyre short on shovels rakes and mulch shovels. Their prices may be near double. But i can guarantee you that their product will last 3 times as long or more. And yes im a direct dealer for them. This company aint no joke. Their products will last My nursery is probably 98 percent all plants and 2 percent hardgoods. This company is part of my hardgoods. Wwmanufacturing.com. This is stuff your great grandkids will still be using. Help them stay open and order from them

#4 TBD could be misused, if Emma Peel is in charge of the FAQ. She'll use that section to push her views on what that odd pork product should be called. She may even promote it to #1.
  31. 1 point
@Mrs. Peel (I'm singling you out here, because from my unscientific study, you are one of the more active mods).... There's several posts in several threads about first time gun owners. What do you think about a LOCKED thread, that: 1: Welcomes them. 2: Provides a FAQ, consisting of links to NJSP Gun section, and other first timer info, maybe training info as well. 3: Links to NJ Based 2A Orgs with brief a description and why they deserve support from all gun owners. 4-x: TBD. I proposed it being locked so it can't get political or off track. Also, would there be a way to direct all new accounts here to be directed there?

The executive order calls for "non-essential business" to close, ANJRPC is not a business, and neither is the range. They are also not open to the public, ever. Im surprised that no one has gutted his EO, yet...

This is essentially how I've used my Lee Turret Press. I have it so the turret doesn't rotate automatically. Deprime all my cases. Turn the turret one stage. Resize them all, turn the turret a stage. Seat the bullet for them all. Done. Then I have two four hole turrets, one set up for .223 and one for 6.5 creedmoor. Pretty convenient.

Soooo, I asked Mrs. Scorpio to explain the test to me in a way that I could, in turn, explain to y'all. She handed me some package inserts from Abbott and Cepheid with big words and stuff. I gave up after about two minutes and sat her down (actually, she practically pushed me out of my chair) to type out the following. Bottom line.... Serology tests are crap, they only detect antibodies. The PCR antigen test detects the RNA and is very reliable.

GIVE ME RECTUMS WITH MY MASHED POTATOES! Such hair-splitting bullshit. You people must have taken lessons from ME, lol! Conflating voting laws with firearms laws and tax liability laws all rolled into one. You people confuse yourselves. Like lookin' for permission to breathe AIR, you ain't gonna find it in the 2C statutes OR in the orange Bible. @45Doll is livin' the dream. He's the expert about this shit cause he already did it, is doin' it and will continue to do it! I've covered this several times throughout the years, Pity it's so hard to use the library of those thousands of posts of mine, @Zeke and others. Nappen will tell you to use a crosswalk & look both ways. Then you'll get a bill. In NJ there is no designation of what a residence IS within the firearms statutes. 2 days, 2 months or 20 years. You don't need to own or rent to make residence in another state. You could just be living there rent-free in the basement! All that's required is some DNA on a toothbrush! Gee that couch folds-out! Can I pay the cable bill Uncle Steve? Do I have metadata on my phone with a Facebook live video shot on Uncle Steve's couch with myself in pajamas? These & other hair-splitting scenarios are plentiful. Now let's get to the brass tacks! As they say "at the end of the day....." The kid wants to buy guns in Florida with a denial hanging over his head. He doesn't know why he was denied & never got or responded to the denial. Choir Boy or Rapist? Who here knows for sure? Maybe his name popped up on the radar screen and he was denied because his name matches a scumbag's? And maybe the Cops never checked further for address, town, age, social security number, etc.? Don't laugh, a member of this forum has been thru that shit already! Or. or, or....could it be a troll from Mom's Demand? Why stop at only 2 residences? When applying deep thinking, in regards to NJ firearms, one must always play "Pretend". You need to pretend you own 3-4 residences within NJ (like SOME do) and then try to apply the EXEMPTIONS. Then see where you come out. THEN PRETEND you live in another state AND you're a nationally-ranked competitive shooter that attends matches throughout this state AND the country. Meaning: IT'S NOT ABOUT YOU OR YOUR SMALL WORLD! Maybe THEN some of you will STOP with the "You need a NJFPID card to own & transport" firearms into & out of NJ??? In essence, you have to remove yourself & your personal situation from the equation when answering firearms questions regarding the convoluted, vague, and often juxtaposed firearms statutes. I've been busy. Does anyone here know that NJSP shut-down new fingerprint for firearms??? https://www.cnjfo.com/news Rosey

So I was just in a conference call and the presenters greets everyone with "be safe", and I was reminded of a movie that came out almost 30 years ago. Those that remember "Demolition Man" where no on shook hands, social distancing, and greeting each other with "Be Well". It's funny how writers and directors can see 30 years into the future. Now all we need is 3 see shells and the toilet paper issue should get resolved.
