and as far as making power......have you heard of torque? horsepower sells cars. torque wins races. my TA made 370lbs at the wheels, most of which under 4K rpms. adding a turbo to a 4cyl creates lag and a narrow power band. an LS makes usable power from idle to redline

 

370 ft-lbs at the wheels is impressive. My Impala used to put down 325 ft-lbs, and the curve was flat. In fact, from 2500-5000 the torque was over 300 ft-lbs at the wheels... Guess that's why I bent LCAs with a stock 1400 RPM stall converter and 3.08 gears.

I really like the LS platform, as with all things their performance is only limited by your wallet but they have amazing potential.
