I have not found a pizzeria in jersey that I love. Generally I head back to Staten Island and go to either deninos or brothers. The two are within a 1/2 mile of each other and both very good.

I am a big fan of Spiritos family restaurant in Rahway.

Ciao Bella in Atlantic Highlands is good too.

Spiritos definitely rocks.

I'll add 2 more places that rocks.

Roses in Garfield

Angelos in Elmwood Park

I'm shocked nobody has mentioned Nomad's in Hopewell NJ and Osteria Procaccini in Kingston NJ. Best 2 pizza joints (with Nomad's being the better) in Central Jersey for sure.

I live right around the corner and have yet to go. I like Franco's in Hopewell.

I'm from Staten Island so my fave 3 places are Gennaros by my old high school, Brothers in forest Ave and Grimaldi's in Brooklyn right under the Brooklyn Bridge.

We have 10000000 pizzeria s in Hillsborough but the only on worth a damn seems to be Angelos

Best pie I've had in recent memory is at totonno's in Brooklyn. Denino's in Staten Island is the original and a fantastic pie.

Pizza in jersey is mostly utility pizza. Mediocre with small pockets of good.

Even manhattan is a tough find. There are SO MANY shitty slices to be had in manhattan that it almost becomes a wasteland of tourist mediocrity.

For exceptional pizza, you have to go to the boroughs.

OK deninos is really good too.

Just to add to the list triangulo's in brooklyn. went last night the grandma pie was the best i ever had. The garlic knots are also amazing. Its definately a spot to stop if your in that area. Only reason i went there was nino's or spumoni gardens are too far from where i was. But im glad i made that stop.

Next time try Lee's Tavern in Dongan Hills, by the Train Station.  Old school joint and hands down the only pizza I'll travel for.

The truth of the matter is that we don't go out for pizza.  My family prefers the ones I make at home.

J0n mentioned Cafe Amici in Somerset but IMHO Piazza Orsillo smokes them. Unfortunately Orsillo has stupid hours (not open on Sunday for football? WTF?!)

1.3 miles further away.... but on your suggestion, will try it.
