I am really liking the Mandalorian. It makes me very very happy. I am also re-watching Rebels, this time with my son. He was too little when it premiered, so he waited. We are about halfway through season 3. I thought it was just ok the first time I watched it. I am really liking it know. Season 3 is incredible with lots of tie-in and “whoa” moments. If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend it. Im still excited for Ep IX. Mostly because my son is over the moon with anticipation and it’s a lot of fun to feed off his excitement. He’s got all these theories and ideas about what is going to happen next. I imagine this is how I was with my dad after ESB and waiting for RotJ to come out. Star Wars is just too much fun!

I am thoroughly enjoying The Mandalorian, I am not even interested anymore in Ep 9.

I had a 1972 MGB. There is a little known feature that is present on all MGBs - there is a checkbook scanner in the driver's seat. It always knows exactly how much money you have. If you have $400 in your checking account, it will cost you $390 to repair - leaving you $10 for beer to cry into. I got to be a very good mechanic though. Every Saturday morning, I would fill the carburetors, transmission, engine, and rear shocks with oil - the same oil. And Pizza Bob - the FIRST thing you do with a British sports car is to replace that mechanical fuel pump with an electronic fuel pump!

I'm converting at the end of this week. It might make a good religious exemption arguement.

Why do you think there is no more FTF sales? There is already a registry! And they make more money on us!

That was the first time for as long as I can remember that I got a chuckle out of this thread. Thanks man.

Well, I opened this thread with good intentions... and 90 percent of the replies were, in fact, very informative - so thank you all for that. However, now that's it's descended into ridiculous toddler-like squabbling... it's no longer serving any useful purpose, is it? So, I'm just gonna lock it down! Disappointing... I must say.

Wait, I'm confused. Aren't these exactly the kind of policies that Murphy has banned, claiming that they are "murder insurance"?

There are several that I could recommend, but my perspective is from a DA revolver, not sure about their experience with SA revolvers. It may be something simple, in which case they could easily handle it. But if it is a malady specific to SA revolvers, it should be done by a SA specialist. For diagnosis and evaluation of the complexity of repair: Pinnacle High Performance in Quakertown, PA. I' d call first and see if he even wants to be involved. If yes, it is easily drivable. While I haven't used Mark at PHP, I know a number of people that have and are very satisfied. If it requires a specialist, there is a Colt SA repair & restoration specialist named David Lanara in Ohio. I have no experience with him, so do some due diligence. Adios, Pizza Bob

The only thing that bugs me about Mandelorian is the short episodes. They’re only 35’ish minutes. That’s too short for good episodes to stand in their own. The plot or characters are just starting to develop and it’s over..

The Mandalorian is awesome. I can’t wait for next week to find out who they teased at the end finding Fennec Shand’s body. Some say it could be Boba Fett even though he supposedly died prior in ROTJ.

OK, so let's try this: You must have gun insurance, but it's illegal in NJ, and there's no companies approved to offer it. Voila! You can't have a gun!

I added a P365 on Black Friday weekend. Local shop here in Greenville was blowing out the P365 TacPacs (3x 12 round mags plus a holster) for $479. I was thinking about getting a second Shield 2.0 as a backup with the massive sales and rebates, but I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to carry 12+1 in the same form factor as my 7+1 Shield. The holster it comes with isn't much to speak of, and I already ordered a Clock Tuck 3.5, but isn't a bad backup holster. It also fits very nicely into a small pistol rug, so it works well for those times when I can't carry, but still want something in the glove box (AKA every day since work doesn't allow CCW). Once the Cloak Tuck comes in, I figure the P365 will be my main carry with the Shield as my number 2. With the P365, I will likely retire my P320 compact from the rotation. If anything, I can add a 15 rounder to my P365 and be about the same height as the P320, but still thinner.

Well, that certainly does change the equation. On one hand, you have the security of 24/7 power, even if you are away, and having a standby genny can only increase the resale value of a house, it could also be the deciding factor whether someone buys your house or another similarly priced one. A standby genny is an attractive feature and adds value. OTOH, there's the cost. Will you recoup the cost of having a standby installed? Maybe, possibly, but probably not 100%. Any depreciation is the cost of having no hassle 24/7 security. Two days after Sandy utterly devastated the Jersey shore (where I live), I saw fuel trucks making deliveries, one right across the street from me. Home heating oil is highly regulated and the state gives homeowners a lot of protection. If it's 10 deg outside and your oil is about to run out, or has run out, then you will get a delivery. I would not volunteer that your genny runs on diesel though. Handling diesel fuel is terribly smelly. The odor seems to get everywhere no matter how hard you try to contain it. Exhaust fumes though, are not bad, especially if the engine is properly tuned. If you are basing the smelliness of diesel on following @Zeke in his big ol' pickup truck, that malevolent odor is not the truck. . Diesel exhaust does smell different, but it's no worse than gasoline. I will have to admit, propane and NG fumes are barely noticeable. Inverter type generators are by far the most quiet. This has more to do with how the generator makes electricity and the typically smaller engines in them, than the fuel type. Diesel comes in second place because of it's inherently higher torque and the lower RPMs needed to do the same amount of work over time and turn a dynamo. Gas engines are governed to spin at 3600 RPM, whereas diesel usually operates at 1800RPM. Lower RPM = lower noise. Necessary is a subjective word. Strictly speaking, having a generator is not at all a necessity, but a luxury. Most homeowners don't own one and they seem to survive okay. If one can afford a hassle free standby generator, and keep it running 24/7 when the lights go out, why would anyone in their right mind try to get by with a portable. The best genny to own and how to use it is simply a matter of how much luxury one can afford. When one has anywhere from 150 to 500 gallons of diesel already on site, there is no need to go to the gas station or rummage through people's back yards.

Propane (and NG too) is a great alternative to gasoline for many reasons. However, we are overlooking the fact that Peel has a 300 to 500 gallon reserve capacity of heating oil on hand. While propane has a huge advantage for long term storage, that is not an issue when a constantly rotated stock of heating oil is available. With propane, one would need a a dozen 20# tanks or couple 100# bottles on hand to ride out a major interruption. The primary advantage of propane is that it can be stored for decades. That's incredible shelf life, but fuel storage is not an issue in this instance, so we need to look at other pluses and minuses of the various fuel types. One gallon of propane produces 84.000 BTU, compare that to the 124,000 BTU diesel puts out and diesel/heating oil wins hands down for efficiency. Diesel is almost 75% more efficient than propane. Additionally, diesel is already on hand, and heating oil companies will be able to deliver within 24-48 hours, after almost any major outage. Unlike gas stations and propane refilling stations, home heating oil companies have an emergency delivery plan. The same may be said for propane delivery, but why store 200#s of propane when there is already a big old oil tank available. In my opinion, a 7.5kW to 10kW Kohler diesel standby generator with auto transfer switch is the way to go in this instance.

What Pro 2A laws (or which ones reversed) has Trump done in 3 years? What Pro 2A laws did we get when he had a Repub majority for 2 years? There's your answer, like it or not.
  32. 1 point
Ok, a better answer then. If you read Kurt's article that you posted., he identifies several groups. I'll get to that in a second. I follow Kurt on Twitter and have read all his books. New one out Thursday. They are a hoot. Anyway, He's got 3 major groups. 40% that loudly and profoundly decry it, and quit or whatever. 40% That agree to their face but don't do it anyway. 20% bootlickers who will follow their master's orders. Kurt is missing a much larger contingent though. People, who, through the ordinary course of events, know how things work and subsequently know how to break things. I'm talking in generalities here. The electrical worker who knows which switch to trip at a sub station or even which contact to file to make something work flaky. The telco worker who knows what wire to cut. The programmer who knows what script to break. The sewage plant worker who knows how to close a valve halfway so the system clogs. Things that make life tolerable when they work, become intolerable when they don't. People who can sabotage ordinary life and make it miserable for the people who enact these asshole policies. This is the group I belong to. Once you truly grok how society works, it becomes trivial to make it not work.

Exactly. In short what we are seeing is the lefts advocation of absurd " something's" and the rights reaction to those "something's". The right is pushing back, they are not the ones initiating the trouble. Left- we want to take your guns. Right- no you can't have them........Left- we want open borders. Right- no, that's not safe and an economic catastrophe in the waiting.......Left- we want to give you free free free. Right- no, you will bankrupt the country so.......It's one stupid agenda after another. The right is trying to hold the line but the left is blazing a path that will ruin this country.

Malsua said "left", not "far left". The key difference here is that the current 2020 Democratic candidates (i.e. the "left" - Biden) are openly/mainstream advocating this stuff. No one from the "right" is advocating anything that would lead to the destruction of our country's democratic goals and Constitutional Republic form of government.

In my opinion... I wonder when some on here realize that the far right has little power and in particular because they have no media coverage (and also because they are morons). The radical Left and its media on the other hand... though It is a fringe like the far Right is, it is much more dangerous because it is relentless and deceptive and has hijacked the discourse and the media largely through bullying and lies. Centrist Constitutionalists are lumped in with the loony far right to villainize them and silence them Undemocratically by the Radical Left as it incites a mob-like group think. These centrists with traditional American values are NOT radicals like the far right and the statists and those governing mainstream radical "far" leftists in power. Biden was just trying to change the subject and focus on something besides the Ukraine for obvious reasons. The whole gun control tyranny of the last year was largely to do that as well and to take eyes off of those lurking in the shadows. The Left knew it as overplaying its hand and was taking a chance, much like it did when it "allowed" media coverage for Trump over the other conservatively portrayed Republican candidates. He was meant to be left with Hilary because they underestimated that he had more negatives. Trump was never suppose to have won but the American people don't want what the Left envisions. The false Russian narrative was suppose to have been an insurance policy AND the ludicrous Impeachment debacle was suppose to have worked as well when that didn't work. It wasn't even so much as necessary to actually impeach the President unjustly, but to keep pounding the media with false and trumped-up negatives. The statists and Washington incumbants have largely exposed and overplayed their hand in a frenzied and desparate effort. Nevertheless, Biden with his foolish comments illustrates that there will never be enough for the Left... Nerf guns will be next! There cannot be anymore compromise with the radical (mainstream) Left. They need to be made as irrelevant and insignificant as the Far Right. In my opinion, the media which attempts to divide and discourage and condition, it needs to be remade, and our children need to be healed from the progressive pablum.

Spoke with Dr Pirelli. Really knows his stuff. Thanks for the recommendation. I’ll be seeing him in a few weeks. Agreed that a lawyer would need the letter anyway so Dr. first. I’ll keep all y’all updated. thanks again.
  39. 1 point
Maybe so but I'm sure Pirelli's bill will be substantially less than a lawyer. One could get a lawyer to represent them and the prosecutor's office will still say you need a letter from the doctor. Get the doctor's letter first. One thing at a time. If you wind up getting a lawyer the letter strengthens your case.
