As it is rainy today I figured this would be a good topic. What games do you like to play of the board, card, or other variety? Every time I move I lose the group of people I play with for certain games. Either I never start playing it again or I find others that enjoy the game. Who knows maybe we all have certain games we like in common and we can have some NJGF game nights.

Games I miss playing the most are Axis and Allies a board game and Eurchre which is a card game for those of you that have never heard of it.

I also like playing dominoes, spades, hearts, poker, Risk, and I am sure there are other I am forgetting.

So, what do you all like to play? (besides with yourself :icon_mrgreen: )

One on one UNO. You haven't lived until you save up 6 "Draw Four" cards and dump em one after the other until your wife calls you a "F**KING CHEATER!!!" and throws said cards in your face. Good times.

I'm a sucker for Monopoly. Stratego, Ray, is one I use to play a lot; though haven't touched the game in a few years now.

With a group of friends, Apples to Apples can be pretty fun (though with a bunch of strangers it can be super awkward).

Other then that, I have interacted with mostly kiddie boardgames recently as my little sister is finally getting to that age where she can enjoy them (slowly).

Age of Empires 1 & 2 + Expansions

Risk, I love to play Risk. It gets intense when its friends playing.

I played Axis and Allies once with some friends and their uncles. I want to play it again, but have no idea where to find or any one that wants to play it at all lol.

Monopoly can be a blast but it has to be with the right people for it to be fun.

I used to play a lot of strategy table games - lots of Axis and Allies, Starfleet Battles was a great board game but I do not think I could bring myself to re-learn the phone book sized rules. Hard to believe I used to remember them in their entirety. Along the same line were miniature games - Warhammer 40K, Warhammer Fantasy Battles, Battleship Gothic, Warhammer Epic, Battletech. Robot Rally was a really fun strategy board game to play. Later on I played a lot of Poker (Hold'em).

These days I mostly play "Manage IT team on multiple projects with conflicting priorities" or "Fix leaky shower stall" and who can ever forget "Drive your son to hockey." - I play a whole lot of that one these days.

    • We never let then inside.  Last re-evaluation was 6-7 years ago, wife politely told him that he was welcome to look around the property and he could look in the windows. He saw two white resin chairs in the basement and told her that this constituted a finished basement. And everything in the basement is bare concrete/ cinder block, and mechanical systems. Nothing finished about it. Ultimately he relented and I'm sure that was a ploy to coerce us to allow him in
    • I use an Alien Gear cloak tuck (IWB) with my Shield.  Neoprene back - in the summer it does feel warm but doesn't rub or chafe.   https://aliengearholsters.com/ruger-lcp-iwb-holster.html Could also go with the shapeshift as it has multiple options - OWB/IWB, Appendix... https://aliengearholsters.com/ruger-lcp-shapeshift-modular-holster-system.html
    • The  12-1 compression ratio L88 is long gone. This is GM's updated version. it might be  pump gas 10-1 engine The L88 was a aluminum head  cast iron block engine with a nasty solid lifter cam. the  ZL1 was a all aluminum  12 or 13-1 compression ratio engine with the best forged internal parts at the time and had a even nastier solid lifter cam
    • I like my regular carry holster.  OWB leather with belt slots.  I've been carrying for over a year and it was comfortable and I hardly even noticed it.  I carry (usually) a Ruger LCP .380 - light, convenient, tiny. But...today I ended up taking it off an leaving it home after a few hours. I cut down a big maple tree a few days ago and I spent 3/4 of today loading and unloading firewood into the back of my truck and a trailer.  It was a warm day, I was dirty, tired, sweaty, and my holster was rubbing against my side.  The leather and exposed metal snap was no longer comfortable. I'm thinking about adding a layer of something to that part of the holster to soften the contact.  Anything insulating will make it worse.  I don't want a sweaty, hotter holster against my skin.  I'm imagining something thin, breathable, that won't absorb sweat, and softer than leather, metal snaps, and rivets.   But I have no idea what would work. I'm hoping somebody else has already figured this out and I can just do what they did. Any suggestions appreciated.
    • Check the primers on the ammo you didn't shoot yet. Are they fully seated? If the primer is not just below flush with the back of the case, the first hit can seat it better then the second hit ignites it.
