I agree with the above 2 posts. I have a .22 conversion for my 1911 and it's great.

Since you are looking for a larger frame, you can also look at a larger caliber handgun in 9mm or 45acp and get the manufacturers 22lr conversion kit. Just about all of the major brands have them. Same frame, different slide and mags that you swap out in less than a minute.

I cannot understand how anyone would stay in NJ. I moved may family and company from NJ to VA. Since then we have prospered. Much lower taxes and freedom. I can hunt with a rifle or handgun and have done both. NJ just plain sucks. I do have family there, bit it wasn't enough to stay miserable. Most US states are much better than NJ, Just leave and live a free citizen.

I don't know how many of you listen to the GunforHire podcast, but he's been talking about this his last 2 episodes. Here's the latest one: Do you remember some months ago that a NJ resident, Susan Woodroffe, started a Change.org petition to engage people's interest in recalling Gov Murphy? Well, she is promoting this as well. Sooo, it seems what we've got here is a coalition of people with much broader concerns than just the 2A. There's people ticked off about the tax situation, ticked off about the sanctuary state idea, ticked off about funding an office to that will legally support people here illegally... AND people ticked off about the onerous gun laws as well. My point being... it might be much easier to get good turnout at this event... because it taps a broader community than just 2A AND it's being announced well in advance through social media, Change.org, the GunforHire broadcast, etc. This SHOULD get some traction... and it's exactly the public display of displeasure from voters that this idiotic, overreaching Governor deserves. Here's that Change.org page btw: https://www.change.org/p/citizens-of-nj-recall-governor-murphy/u/23816437?cs_tk=AdnhxKkbgxsJNXsMLFwAbAWEzI7NkR8srRSLMfCAMA%3D%3D&utm_campaign=f705e9f5b6e24fd1a455c2cf4ebf0bf6&utm_medium=email&utm_source=petition_update&utm_term=cs

I'm a new gun owner and from reading this board and other's, watching videos online and reading articles- don't be afraid to ask for help! People on this board and others are very ready to help and pass on their experience. Take advantage of it. Also, out of winter boredom, I practice field stripping my guns multiple times, including cleaning before firing first time. I did this because I wanted to see what the main parts looked like new and have a reference point in regards to wear and tear, etc. I also explained to my kids how to behave around guns and to follow the rules of gun ownership. Over Christmas, we wen't to someone's house who shamefully had a loaded gun sitting on a nightstand. My two kids were wandering through the house, saw it, and immediately knew to treat it like it was loaded, don't touch it and to come find a parent immediately. My older boy took the lead and found me immediately. I was never prouder of him for keeping his younger sister out of trouble and he had an extra "good" Christmas this year. :-)

Consider 2 for the price of one. Well, kinda. Get something that you can add a .22 kit to. I have a Beretta 92 and added the kit. One permit. Two guns. Same feel. Win win!

I'd like to be able to walk into a gun store, see something I like, and walk out 20-30 minutes later with my purchase like the rest of the country. Corzine has a stake in Sagem Morpho. I wonder if he's from Middlesex County? I'd offer my SBI number in lieu of being reprinted. I'm curious if this could be challenging in court. It is a scam.

I think there are two issues here... 1. Point of this drill? If you want to get people to be okay around gunfire... just have them take off the muffs. lol. OR stand on the line and shoot blanks or something. Same sound, and effect with no "oh shit." Trainer just too cheap/stupid for not using simunitions? 2. As it was pointed out elsewhere... even the elite operators of the world out there... would not be doing this stupid shit WITHOUT full armor and helmets. You can go bang a hooker on the street if you really want to.... but don't be a moron and not wear a rubber. THIS is banging a hooker without a rubber.

you can get the same immersive experience while simulating actually being shot at with simunitions.. there is no value at all for ANY level of shooter to engage in that.. guns misfire.. rounds go off course.. people trip.. even if you do your part.. 100% you could still shoot and kill someone.. I used to dismiss activities like that as being not that big of a deal.. typically the round goes where you put it.. but in retrospect I was wrong.. because the key word to that is typically.. even if just one person is hurt or injured.. its an unnecessary loss..
  14. 1 point
you know I thought about this more.. and I think the main reason I built this gun.. was because its almost everything I could never have in NJ.. the ability to walk around with a SBR in a backpack with a 30 round mag.. the only thing missing IS a suppressor.. lol

My statement was a general question to if there were any Patriots left. The "you" was just a generic "everyone" reference, not you specifically. The "drawn line" question was to see if anyone has actually considered that. Due to lack of any other responses in the thread, I can only surmise others will just bend over and take it in the shorts AGAIN, when Murphy signs the 5 round mag law and the semi-auto ban. They don't have any line in the sand. Maybe when we get back to muskets, they will. Actually, you're probably right. We might be at the 0.001 percent level at this point.

Finally watched it. As expected I saw no racial overtones. I guess white people can't see racism It was an interesting character study of diverse personalities thrown together due to horrible circumstances.

I can't wait till this whole "I'm a civilian but I'm training to be an operator" bull shit blows over. Especially in NJ, your never gona be able to carry a gun in this state. It's not the politicians that prevent us from carrying, it's all the gun owners crying on the internet instead of making a real difference. Stop wasting your money with these assholes and just shoot a fucking match. Guns in NJ are only for games, not self defense. When you move to America and there's that one in ten millionth chance that you have to get in a gun fight happens, your not going to have to fight the entire taliban army or the swat team. It's gona be one coward dope head and all you have to do is show your gun, the end.

A WIDER, PISSED-OFF BASE is just what the Doctor ordered Now we're NOT just a bunch of gunthirsty yahoos shakin' our fists. The main reason the Sweeney recall failed was because some in the 2A community (NOT this guy fwiw) kept it just a 2A gig instead of appealing to the teachers & everybody else that was pissed at the time. THIS organized event looks to be attracting everyone, so hopefully we get more traction (as Peel mentioned!). ~R

Do you have your fid card? As for Hunting in NJ you won't be using a 458 socom for anything. Not legal. The only rifle hunting allowed in NJ is groundhogs and coyote/fox. And with those you are limited in caliber /bullet weight. Get a 22. They are fun, cheap to shoot, not much recoil. Get a pump shotgun. Join a range. Learn those guns. If still interested. Then get an AR and learn that gun.

HAHA, I know the feeling. One good holster that works well for me here is the new CrossBreed one. Using it with 1911. Spreads the weight very well. https://www.crossbreedholsters.com/holsters/inside-the-waistband-holsters/the-reckoning-holster.html

Wanting your constitution rights given back to you is "overthrowing the government"? Really? This is the dilemma we're in, too many are willing to roll over and give in. Little by little, we are becoming Venezuela, but since the heat is only being turned up slowly, very few have their eyes open. If you're going to worry about what's being posted on an anonymous Internet forum, maybe just stay under your bed, it's safer there. EVERYTHING you already do is being tracked, worrying about what's being posted here is the least of your worries. It's takes a 3% "involvement" to make permanent changes. Are there 3% in this state willing to stop the tyranny and get their God given Rights back as outlined in the Constitution and Bill of Rights? That's the real question.

Still awaiting my permission slips so I haven’t even picked up the 686 yet. Hopefully should get those in a few weeks. I added a bunch of house renovation projects to the list so money is also a little more of a concern now. Might end up going with a rough rider to fill the niche for a few years and then add the 617 to my stable when these projects are over with.

holy shit! not sure who is dumber, the class instructor or the people participating. WTF is wrong with people!!!!! every single one of those persons involved should have their guns removed

At what point do the law abiding citizens and patriots push back against this government over-reach? Or, will these same citizens just continue to roll over and take it, year after year? Where's the line in the sand?

Brah, FUCK, AND I MEAN FUCK THAT MOVIE! What the fuck do I even try to watch any movie made after 1990? Glad we stole that shit, not that I'll ever give Hollywood any money ever again anyway. Jesus I can't get over how we just wasted 2 hours of our lives. I feel like a sucker cus they got to be blindfolded while I had to keep my eyes open. Sandra Bullock was born a man so yeah, no wonder she does a black dude in the movies.

You can do just about anything with those 4 guns.

I’d say AR and 10/22 and Glock, and probably a regular pump shotgun. in whatever order. Also don’t forget a gun safe!

Also just to add. Video games are a huge driver of gun sales... along with movies. Keep in mind the video game generation is now maturing into gun owners... My "wants" Colt Anaconda - Resident Evil video games. Desert Eagle - Matrix HK P7M13 - Die Hard AUG - Die Hard MP5 - Die Hard Colt Python - For many... Walking Dead The SCAR is a pricey gun and well known. I think it was also on the cover of the first or one of the first Recoil Magazines.... that sells LOTS of guns.

As you all can imagine, the past three years of getting this store up and running has been a journey for the ages. I appreciate all of you that took the time to come visit the shop and I know that as we progress through the next year, inventory and atmosphere will be doing nothing but grow. I must also admit that it is my own fault for not getting the word out on the forum and to that I apologize to all myfellow forum folks. As Randolph before, my door is always open to any of you that may have any needs, suggestions and or concerns. The staff here in Union is a bit new so we are working through the small stuff to really make this a great shooting experience for all of our dedicated customers. I am most easily contacted at my email: [email protected] and more than welcome contact from any and all of you. I do not easily forget the suggestions that were provided by many of you in the Randolph location and the growing pains were ALL of ours. This Union location will have similar growing pains and as before, I prefer to hear from you first and try and address it than getting off to a bad start with published complaints before a solution has been examined. If I don't do anything or fail to act, WELL, BASH AWAY!! HA HA Thank you again for backing us over the past seven years and I look forward to seeing you at the range.

In terms of practice one wise person told me when I first started: don't go to the range without a plan, effectively turning dollars into noise. Make sure you have a goal when you go to practice. Are you just trying to work on trigger control, are you working on controlled pairs, are you working on time from the holster to a good first shot? Have a plan and follow it. As for many of the other things I would highly suggest training by participating in matches such as USPSA and IDPA. If you are a new shooter don't be concerned that you don't have experience or are not the most accurate or fastest shot. All you should care about is that you can be safe and follow the rules and that you want to have fun. The good shooters will not look down on you, and most will take you under their wing and help you out. These matches are a great way to make new friends too.

Three things we teach the kids in Junior Rifle: 1) This is a sport of a thousand different little things. None of them are rocket science. If you do 800 of the little things right, you'll do better than if you only did 400 of them right. 2) Squeeze the trigger like you're squeezing an eye dropper and only want one drop, not the whole dropper full. 3) Wear eye protection - G-d only gave you one pair and they don't grow back.

Ahh, I missed that you were looking for a Mossy. I like the FAB defense folding/adjustable stock - lockup was solid, never had any issues with the cheek rest and the recoil damper was decent. Unlike RayRay's dainty paws, I didn't have any discomfort issues with the pistol grip when firing with the stock folded or unfolded. However I decided that I wanted a receiver-mounted shotshell holder more than I wanted a folding stock in my HD shotty, so I got a magpul fixed instead. Was saving the folding stock in case I came across a cheap 870 so I could have a "truck" shotty, just haven't come across the right deal yet.
