I received an authoritative answer on the expiration dates of the new electronic handgun permits. The permits are issued for an initial 90 days and will automatically renew when the first 90 days expire, for a total of 180 days. What is still not clear is whether there's a mechanism for a LE department to stop the renewal for some reason.

Wasn't sure if this should be merged with the recent ANJRPC CCW lawsuit thread... https://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/fpc-saf-nj2as-file-new-lawsuit-challenging-new-jersey-handgun-carry-ban/ Snippet: From the Firearms Policy Coalition: Today, Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC), Second Amendment Foundation (SAF), and New Jersey Second Amendment Society (NJ2AS) announced the filing of a new federal lawsuit challenging the State of New Jersey’s laws that prevent individuals from carrying a loaded handgun outside of the home for self-defense. This new lawsuit challenges New Jersey’s criminal statutory scheme as it relates to carrying loaded, operable handguns outside of the home without a permit as well as the State’s regulatory scheme as it relates to applications for and issuance of carry permits. The case, Bennett v. Davis, can be viewed at FPCLegal.org. New Jersey law makes it a crime for a law-abiding individual to carry a loaded handgun outside of the home unless they have been issued a permit to carry a handgun, thus denying them their right to bear arms. Worse, State law prevents them from obtaining such a permit because of further unconstitutional requirements, such as the demonstration of “justifiable need”, among others. New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy has previously said that “private citizens should not be able to carry weapons based on mere generalized fear.” However, say the plaintiffs, the Supreme Court’s precedents take that policy choice off the table, and the Constitution itself provides the only justification necessary for law-abiding adults to exercise their fundamental, individual right to bear arms. “This case is fundamentally a simple but important one,” said attorney for the plaintiffs, Raymond DiGuiseppe. “In New Jersey today, the right to carry loaded handguns in public for all lawful purposes, including self defense, is completely denied to law-abiding people, like and including our clients. But the U.S. Supreme Court has held that such bans are categorically unconstitutional. We look forward to vindicating the rights of our clients and forcing New Jersey to respect the Constitution.” More at link.

Agreed--if you haven't read one or more of the Ian Fleming novels, now is the time. They're great. The more recent James Bond books were written by other authors commissioned by Fleming's estate, and they're not quite the same. I do enjoy the films, but even before they ran out of Fleming novels to make into screenplays, they started to diverge from the books in increasingly silly ways. Moonraker, for example, was written about a single missile, with a range of but a few hundred miles, that the bad guy (Drax) was planning to fire at London. By the time the movie came out, it involved an entire fleet of space shuttles and a cloaked space station where Drax was going to establish a master race after eliminating all human life on earth with nerve agent released from orbit.

I forgot I had these video clips, I took them while working new construction at Great Adventure . These clips are two or three years old , At the time the cubs were 1 one year old. Its a fluke to see them when the parks not open. I don't think I posted them before. IMG_1393.m4v IMG_1391.m4v IMG_1390.m4v

He was the best Bond. I loved him in The Untouchables, The Hunt For Red October and The Presidio.

I am putting this in the public view so everyone sees it. If you don't already know, this is how you track your mail-in ballot history in NJ. Please don't get into a politics discussion. Just register yourself and make sure your ballot was counted. Set up your voting record account. I recommend you use the linked tool to 'Checkout helpful hints' and get your voter ID number. Don't use your SSN or NJDL to create your Voter Record Account. The NJDL did not identify me as a registered voter. I did not try my SSN. The Voter ID got me right in. Once I created and logged into the account, i could see that my ballot had been mailed (and I did get it). After I turn it in I should be able to confirm it was received and counted. Let's just deal with any questions here, and not politics.

The request status on the left is your request to have a mail-in ballot sent to you. This year the state initiated this request for everyone because Murphy said so. The right side is their status in processing it. That's the side that should change to a confirmation that your vote was counted.
  12. 1 point
From what I read elsewhere the status won’t go from “Received” to “Accepted/Rejected” until the vote is certified but if there were problems with the ballot that would cause them to be rejected they would have reached out soon after it was received.

Thanks all. WalMart in Boonton had half a pallet so I'm set. They were marked at $7.97/box but they rang up at $6.97. MUCH better than the $25/box an Amazon seller was asking.

Don't get me wrong I'm happy, just that things move slowly and If Biden wins we don't have the time factor on our side.

This is a win, win, win. Trump has put enough judges on the third circuit that we may get one for phase one. Win or loose we go to appeals and again we can draw 2 of the three conservative judges. If we win there it is over, NJ would not appeal to SCOTUS. There is enough pressure from the deep state to compel them. They don't want a SCOTUS opinion to affect the whole country. If we loose through appeals, then we win at SCOTUS. There is no down side to this except the long wait. This is good news for sure. This is due to the confirmation of Amy Coney Barrett, thank you President Trump.

It's only a crime if you get caught. Don't have all the parts in your car and drive drunk, speeding, with two burned out brakes lights and a busted headlight and you'll be ok.

Connery was James Bond. IMO he could have played Bond at 90. As Bond he was the man every woman wanted and the man every man wanted to be. Most of you guys are too young to know about the Bond thing starting. I started reading Bond before the movies. I heard President Kennedy liked Bond novels. I started reading them in the 7th grade (only 50 cents in paperback at the time). Pretty racy being I was in the 7th grade at the time!!! Connery made $10,000 for Dr No. A few years later he made $1,000,000 for Goldfinger. The only people who had made a million for a movie before that were Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton for Cleopatra. A non-Connery Bond I like is On Her Masjesty's Secret Service. That's because Diana Rigg left the Avengers to be in the female lead. Before that Honor Blackman left the Avengers to play Pussy Galore in Goldfinger. "I must be dreaming", one of the best lines in that movie. Another was when Gert Frobe told Bond, "No Mr Bond, I expect you to die".

Eh... I'm in agreement with an old poster here. No way am I picking up a KelTec SUB 2000 when the Ruger PC Carbine --particularly the takedown--is available.

Fauci has been a major disappointment, but what do you expect from a career Gov. employee.. I think, at this point, with the way he's turned on Trump, he might be auditioning for a cabinet position in the Biden administration. He has to know, at this point, if Trump wins again, his days are numbered....

NJ is "safer" with a limit. lol FWIW prior to 2020 if I found 9 mm for under $0.20 a round I thought that was a good deal. The only real advantage to something compact is to be able to carry. Will you going any place where you will be able to carry on a regular basis?

Welcome , Congrats, Be safe. Know it's expensive, if you can go to range, Rent a few and see what feels right. Nothing worse then buying something and not liking it and it sits or you sell it.

OK for the last time. I didn't say he didn't mean it. I'm just saying that it is close to impossible for any president to do it. Now this has nothing to do with my political inclination, the price of tea, or any other irrelevant sad story. I just believe that it will take a political coalition that none of the sides can amess. Now you can keep hating me for voting Biden, I don't care. I stand by my forecast, not because I'm trying to change anyone opinion here to vote for someone other then whoever they were going to vote to, just because I do not see a way for any serious gun reform in either direction for the foreseeable future. Man you are on to me, it is me Fidel : )

Is there a topic that you will not make into the same old rhetoric? You think democrats are evil incarnate, and in a democracy you are entitled to your opinion, but come on. Listening to you, one would think that Donald Trump was the president that took over from George Washington and democrats never had any majority or a president, and if god forbid they will, they will give the country to the Russians. As to your other post. So you honestly believe that everything that a politician says they will do is 100% going to happen? Notice I never said he didn't say it, I just said that he cannot make it happen.
