The reason people get jumped on here is because someone who has no idea what they are talking about posts something here as if it is fact, when if they only had the slightest bit of reading comprehension, or did the slightest bit of research, they would not make a fool of themself. And it gets really old hearing the same incorrect bullshit get spewed time after time, and confuses people who in the future google "hexmag nj legal" and bullshit like this pops up and they think their legal (10) round hexmag is illegal. There are grey areas and there are clear black or white areas, and don't act like you know for a fact in either case when you don't actually know, or we will get another 10 page topic on if we are allowed to modify a 15 round magazine to 10...

no, they haven't, and it'd be good if you people would stop broadcasting this shit out in the open, giving the powers that be the ideas to make them illegal.

I am working on this case now. It's real & I've reached-out to the guy in the story. No details YET, and I'm going to conduct a telephone interview & ask what I CAN release. Stay tuned folks! Rosey

Wow, lots to touch on in your first post. I've been in major training with my puppy, who's just coming up on one year with us. Trying to do the right thing and teach good behaviors over bad ones, and not let any bad ones even get allowed. It's been a completely different experience, and I've had dogs all my life. Regarding treats, I was on the fence about that too, didn't want him to just respond to food, and many times it took a lot longer for him to get what I wanted him to do. In hindsight, using rewards when teaching new cues is the way to go in the beginning, then fade the lure once he learns. I didn't want my guy accustomed to always getting a reward, and just using praise, but that has slowed progression on some areas. One big issue you need to establish, an since you don't know what all he's been through, YOU need to set the tone and be the ALPHA in the family. There can never be a question in the house who's in charge.... NEVER, or the dog will look for any crack in the lining and take advantage. Another thing, every time you call him to you it needs to feel like a positive experience for him, even if he's done something wrong. Calling him and when he comes, then repremanding him for something bad sends mixed messages, and the next time he'll try and guess, if he should come or not listen. Also, everyone in the family has to be consistent in all cues and commands, and all use the same words, hand signals, tone, etc., so the dog can learn to be consistent in his response. If everyone says something different for "sit". "come", "down", etc., it will confuse him.

Well, on the other hand, there is a whole bunch of BS and false statements floating around in different forums and other areas that can definitely confuse the issue. Not everyone hangs on the NJGF 15 hours a day to get the latest updates like a few in this thread. Hell, I'd make a $1000 bet that 75% of the gun owners in NJ don't even know about the new 10 round law, I would also bet that less that 10% have ANY clue on what's needed to make a 15 round legal. Go visit here: https://www.reddit.com/r/NJGuns/ You'll see a whole ton of clueless.

Exercising and burning out some of the energy is always good. Specially before trying to work on training. Regarding jumping, when he does that, quickly turn your back and ignore him, if he runs around to face you to try again, quickly reverse again. Hopefully he'll get the point that jumping gets the cold shoulder and no interaction. Biting was a biggie with my puppy going through the teething stage. What we did when he nipped was to yell "ouch" really loud, then immediately pick up your hands and totally ignore him. (this is basically what his mother would do if he bit to hard when a puppy, she'd yelp and immediately leave) He learned if he nipped, interaction with us came to a skreeching halt. The pulling part, we're still working on that too......

Issues of individual freedom are always the most galvanizing IMO. They touch a nerve. Understand it or not, if you're Progressive, chances are you view Roe as absolutely critical to protecting women's individual freedom... just as if you're solidly on the right side of the spectrum, you view gun rights as being critical to protecting individual freedom also. It's all a matter of perspective, I guess. All I can say is that once he announces, oh boy... it's going to be quite a wild show!! I fully expect shenanigans... significant digging of dirt on the appointee - even if they have to make up some "fake news". I wouldn't be surprised to see some other nefarious moves to impact the vote either. It's going to be political war of the ugliest kind! And, of course, the Republican are no angels either - a few will hold out to leverage their power and get some stuff for their districts. Oh, yeah... it's going to be craziness.

Here's the results of today's telephone interview with 1st Cavalry disabled Vet Len Cottrell: KID's CHAT SENDS NJ TROOPERS TO GET DAD's GUNS! VET's FAMILY INTERROGATED FOR HOURS; KID PUKES! by Black Wire Media Thursday July 5, 2018 www.cnjfo.com Disabled Vet Len Cottrell got a call while working at 9:30pm on Thursday June 14th from his wife. Their lives were changed FOREVER! Their 13 year old son, having watched constant news media coverage of the Parkland, Fl school shooting and having recently gone through a practice "LOCKDOWN", had a conversation in school with another student about how their school lacked security & was therefore a "soft target". This "lockdown" was a joke as the window treatments were never closed and the children were allowed to look out the windows during the drill! This educational chat between middle school students was overheard by a third student, and that student went home to tell his mom about what he (thought) he'd heard. She called the school, the school called the NJ State Police Barracks near their home and a pair of State Troopers were sent to the Cottrell residence TO GET THE GUNS! At 9:30pm the investigation started. Once Mr. Cottrell got home, the Troopers informed him that they were told to make him turn-over his firearms TO THEM. "They already knew about my Glock 21, but they didn't know about my 12 ga. shotgun I use for hunting. They wanted all my guns. They got my boy so upset during the three hour long "interview" that he threw-up & was visibly shaking, thinking he'd be taken-away to jail! They had no warrant!"---Len Cottrell. After first waking his retired parents up to make sure they were dressed, Cottrell somehow held his ground and convinced the State Troopers to allow him to transport his firearms to his parents residence for safekeeping. The Troopers checked with the Barracks for an okay and then followed Cottrell from his residence to his parents place in eastern Ocean Co. at 1:00 am! Cottrell's 13 year old boy received no verbal or written write-up about the incident, although he wasn't allowed to participate in his school's graduation last month. The Nappen Law firm has been contacted and a Go Fund Me page has been set-up by CNJFO Trustee Dan Grdovic, a 20 year friend of Cottrell. Here's the link to help this family of modest means: https://www.gofundme.com/cottrell-family-legal-defense-fund . Please consider donating! Where this is all going, no one knows. The new overreaching law allowing this to happen to a disabled 1st Cavalry combat vet & his family was just signed by NJ Governor Murphy! No charges have been filed against the boy YET. The firearms remain at Gunsitters in Whippany, NJ. per Nappen's suggestion. As we all know, once firearms are CONFISCATED, it's a terrible hell to get them back and failure to do so results in the owner being declared a "PROHIBITED PERSON" that's not ever allowed to own firearms anywhere in the country! Since the Police didn't confiscate them at least Cottrell needn't worry about THAT! Feel-good laws have CONSEQUENCES! Will YOU be next? Please, if you can, help the Cottrells! Then please consider JOINING NJ's busiest Second Amendment group of dedicated FIGHTERS & NEWSBREAKERS! Join HERE: www.cnjfo.com/join-us . Thanks in advance from all of us!

Thank you for contacting Attorney General Grewal regarding regulation changes for taser/stun gun use. As of October 22, 2017, in accordance with a Consent Order entered in the United States District Court, prior statutory prohibitions against selling or possessing stun guns in New Jersey have been declared unconstitutional. By virtue of this ruling, New Jersey is now on similar footing as 39 other states that allow stun guns with limited or no restrictions so, unless there is a change to the law, no permit or license will be required to obtain or possess a stun gun. However, the State Police have adopted a rule effective January 2, 2018 prohibiting minors under the age of 18 from obtaining or possessing stun guns. In addition to this regulation, current statutory provisions that establish restrictions on stun guns remain in force and effect, including laws that prohibit felons and incompetent persons from possessing stun guns, possession on school grounds, possession for an unlawful purpose, and possession under circumstances not manifestly appropriate for such lawful uses as a stun gun may have. This response is not intended as legal advice but is offered for informational purposes only. Unless the law is changed, New Jersey law contains no permitting or similar requirement that must be satisfied in order to possess a stun gun (whether at home or in public). And, as previously indicated, there are limitations under the current law which are not affected by the Consent Order. You may wish to consult a private attorney should you require legal advice on this issue. Thank you again for writing. Sincerely, Jonathan J. Pantano Citizens Services and Relations Office of the Attorney General thats wht why I got in June 20th from AG office.

LOL - this one was funny - All the fearmongering NJ firearms lawyers and NJ's firearms laws can all screw themselves - with all the moving I did last year 450 miles away, the last thing I worried about was notifying them about my stupid ass yellow card - I live in free America now and have better things to do, like help keep the South free. And those dumbass permits/registrations for the firearms I owned and brought with me can go rot in an NJSP barracks somewhere - we are Brady exempt down here and its amazing to think I actually endured the kind of firearms oppression up there - Godspeed, y'all.

Read the request for injunction. I did. Any judge, regardless of his party affiliation, that refuses to grant the relief requested in the filing belongs on the gallows in the public square for treason against the Constitution of the United States.

Can’t agree with this more! Making sure the whole family use the same words and hand signals will make training life so much easier. Whether or not to use treats during training seems to be a matter of preference. We’ve been told to use and not use. When we had our rottie the trainer encourage the use of kibble in the beginning. Once the command was learned, we weaned off to “clicker” queues and then to Uber amounts of praise. We did the same technique with our current pup (lab, wolfhound mix) and she picked up the hand queues super fast and will come from one end of the yard solely on a clicker noise. most of all go slow and be consistent. Using the same words and gestures will ensure the pup l earns and responds in the same way.

I've heard varying opinions on this. One way agrees with what you are saying and I used to believe it. The other, that dogs have been breed and domisticated for so long long now that there is little to any wild animal left in them. They have been breed for hundreds, if not thouasands, of years now to be domistic animals and to want to please us. As Greenday said, "They want you to be happy and it makes them happy when they make you happy." I'm slightly torn on this issue. At times i see the need to let him know "who the boss is". But at other times I wonder if I'm being impatient or angry that he isn't getting it or understanding. Not that I'm being hurtful but rather stern. Raising my voice and putting some bass in it.

I suggest you review ATF Ruling 2010-6, which says in part: "ATF has previously addressed the eligibility of individuals to acquire firearms who maintain residences in more than one State. Federal regulations at 27 CFR 478.11 (definition of State of Residence), Example 2, clarify that a U.S. citizen with homes in two States may, during the period of time the person actually resides in a particular State, purchase a firearm in that State. See also ATF Publication 5300.4 (2005), Question and Answer B12, page 179. Similarly, in ATF Ruling 80-21 (ATFB 1980-4, 25), ATF held that, during the time college students actually reside in a college dormitory or at an off-campus location, they are considered residents of the State where the on-campus or off-campus housing is located." (underline mine) When I reside in PA at my second home the ATF says I'm allowed to buy firearms. One issue is in the case of handguns the PA State Police want to see a PA drivers license on the background check, since they are the intermediary to the federal system. So they effectively supersede the ATF ruling with their requirement. PA FFLs will not accept any other proof-of-residency documents for a hand gun purchase other than a PA DL. I would also refer you to the concepts of 'domicile' vs. 'residency'. I can have several residences, but only one domicile. Usually the domicile is the determinant for tax purposes. At some point I may very well acquire a PA DL. That does not in and of itself establish my 'domicile'. Only one of several possible 'residencies'.
  30. 1 point
Residency requirements are different state to state, and even the Federal BATF residency requirements are different. One needs to review those rules when making statements. FL does not care about NJ laws period. You cannot use a NJ P2P out of state. Yes, by Federal law you cannot purchase a handgun out of your state of residency. But what defines residency in State or Federal BATF regulations is what counts.

I saw an interview with a person making Henri Cartier-Bresson's prints. He said that a lot of Cartier-Bresson's film was exposed incorrectly and required a lot of work to make it right in print. After visiting a big exhibition of his work I noted that if Cartier-Bresson lived in a digital era his work would be not only properly exposed but also in focus. Equipment has nothing to do with vision if you have one.

The system I described is what's outlined in the COTUS. All branches of government enjoy certain immunities. It has to be this way because who would take any job in any branch of government if they were held personally liable for any decision they made? Should we have charged everyone involved in the internment of Japanese Americans during WW2 from the top down to the soldiers that guarded them? There was zero incidents of sabotage or espionage among them. That was one of the most blatant unconstitutional actions ever done by the government. The only compensation the Nisei got for that was an apology and $20,000 over 45 years later. They also got credit for retirement if they were a Federal employee for "time served". SCOTUS changes their mind too. In Plessy vs Ferguson SCOTUS ruled equal but separate was okay. That stood as law of the land for almost 60 years until SCOTUS reversed that decision with Brown vs Board of Education. The system is imperfect but it is what it is. Can anyone think of a better one?

I would imagine that ANJRPC filed for an injunction on the mag ban because there are hundreds of thousands of people who are immediately impacted by the passage of that law. So many people immediately impacted, both legally and financially, makes an injuction possible. The red flag laws are more difficult to file an injuction for, or even file a lawsuit against at this time, since virtually no one has been impacted by the law until now. If I am not mistaken, they can’t even file suit until someone is adversely affected by the law, but it sounds like this could change that.

When people talk about family and inclusion, few people can measure up to Anthony Colandro and Jimmy at GFH. I had made a request to make a wish happen for a very close friend of my twins that has a disease, which there is no cure. It only offers a diminishing quality of life and suffering. Because of her limitations, she spends a lot of time gaming and always wanted to know what it was like to shoot a real firearm. Well, GFH was the Genie that made that wish happen. I can't thank GFH enough for giving genuine joy to a young woman whose day is mostly enduring pain and hardships. Tom who was her instructor could not have been any better. He is another angel the represents GFH Family of Guardian Angels. You have NO IDEA how much joy you have given this family. My daughter in the background was simply amazed at how everything played out. Heaven / Valhalla - smiles upon your good deeds my brother(s).
