We do not OWN your primary weapon you stupid ass - WTF are you that dumb???? Lastly you and your cronies wnat em - COME AND TAKE IT BITCH ! Effing assholes - And AVB-AMG just really - stop - stop with it all - you are no friend of the 2A at all or the right to keep and bear arms. So stop with the show that you are.

This Congressman does not understand the Constitution and the Second Amendment he has sworn to uphold. I do not think he knows from what the Second Amendment protects us. It is the Government. The 2A is supposed to allow for an armed citizenry to keep the state (these United States) free from tyranny. The point is for the citizenry to have the weapons he carried on the battlefield. We as citizens have given up that full right and beczme complacent in it. Some of his suggestions are good, some already exist, and others show his complete lack of knowledge of the Constitution, the Federalist Papers and our founders' intents.

Another FL politician walking the thin line to keep his job. Has no morals, scruples, or backbone, catering to, the for the moment, a group of people believing whatever the mass media tells (lies to) them. This is not new technology people, semi-auto firearms are over 100 years old. Only now is it a problem, I think not. This will not stop at the "evil black rifle". Just the beginning. I could mention one other firearm right now most of us possess and it would have done more damage than any AR-15. Tell me what will they do when evil person armed with non SA weapons decides to repeat this horrible act using NY reloads. More laws that's about it. For the record, exactly what their beloved Australia did when it happened. This was a failure of three branches of government, not the use of a gun that has 100 year old technology. We will all suffer when the only line of first defense is a PD that is minutes away from a problem that ends in seconds. See what Ben Franklin had to save about giving up freedom for safety. You are neither free or safe. To the OP, you might as well give up what you own now. You have failed at Freedom 101 and have already determined your destiny is at the hands of the government. You fit right into Murphy's description of NJ, it has residents, not citizens. And if you want to know what they think about you I might suggest listening to George Carlin, the modern Will Rodgers.

Quadrillion is and that's close enough. It's 10^15. Believe me there is no exit tax. If it's an investment property there are taxes anyway. For all others it's a witholding to make sure you prepare your final NJ tax bill. It is not a tax on the home sale or for leaving the state.

I really don't think the detective that reviews applications knew either. To pass the NRA basic pistol course, you have to shoot a qualifier at the end of the course. The three achievement levels are called red, white, and blue. You have to successfully achieve the red (easiest) level to pass the basic pistol class. Note: everybody who actually puts in any effort passes the class. Qualification for Level 1: Red is four five shot groups within the four-inch circle at 10 feet. Qualification for Level 2: White is four five shot groups within the four-inch circle at 15 feet. Qualification for Level 3: Blue is four five shot groups within the four-inch circle at 20 feet. The NRA also has a marksmanship qualification program where you can achieve several different levels from "basic" through "distinguished expert".

A custom build I recently finished : S&W 627 8 Shot, Titanium cylinder, apex hammer, hogue grips and cylinder release, bowen rear sight and sdm front sight. the barrel was an old 8 3/8" model 27 barrel that I machined down to 7" and milled in an interchangeable sight base.

Some of you may know I like to tinker with my collection. My old circa 1978 Nickel Colt Govt MK IV Series 70 seen its days. Many transitions of parts and finishes. I finally decided to spend some bux on it since it served me so well over the years. So here is what was done: - Stripped and finished in brushed hard chrome flats and chrome mat rounds. - Novak sights cut. - All lettering re-engraved. - Ejection port lowered. - Trijicon HD sights installed. - New trigger, (forget model). - New Wilson Flat Wire and Guide Rod installed. - New Main Spring housing. - New VZ Grips with Super Scoop. Pictures don’t do it justice. Hard to get decent shots without shadows or glare. Only thing left is I should replace the barrel. Its orig. Here is what it looked like after the very first face lift and how it evolved from there. Gold Electroplate: Cerakoted: (bad job)... (Colt on left of course) Cerakoted: (Nice work called Beatdown) Final look is in first post of hard chrome... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Are we sure he is a Russian shill? Through gun ownership, I have met many people from Russia and various Eastern European countries. I found all of them to be very proud Americans, passionate gun owners, and huge supporters of individual liberty and limited government. It's almost as if people who have experience with socialism understand how much it sucks...

Remember--AVB is a shill-bot for people that want you dead for lawfully owning guns. He was never on here to actually support any 2A rights, the presence is to infiltrate and attempt to influence in the direction his masters tell him to do. Any 'compromise' will surely lead to the loss of your rights and property, and eventually, your life. Beware

I’m not sure if you understand just how much a huge portion of the millions of armed citizens value our freedom and way of life and what they would do to actually defend and protect the Constitution of the United States. It would be a collosal mess. But I wouldn’t want to be on the tyrants side. It would not go well for them.

The biathlon events have concluded at the 2018 Winter Olympics, so I'll post a quick summary. There will be much less detail here than in my Summer Olympics thread, because I've no experience in biathlon, but hey, it's a rifle event! Ok, it also includes a bit of XC skiing... Your US Biathlon Team Members are here: US Biathlon Team The official Olympics Biathlon page is here, with a good bit more detail about the events: Biathlon events There are 11 biathlon events in the Olympics, including Men's and Women's Individual, Relay, Sprint, Pursuit, and Mass Start events plus a mixed Mens/Women's relay. The distances skied range from 7.5 to 20 kilometers. Shooting is done with highly modified .22 bolt action rifles (iron sights only), fired at 50 meters from the prone position at targets slightly under 2" in diameter, or from the standing position, at targets that are about 4.5" in diameter. Targets are simply scored as hit/miss, and depending on the event, a miss either adds a 1 minute penalty to the skiers time, or requires them to ski a 150 meter penalty loop before continuing. Most events only allow 5 rounds for the 5 target string, but the relay events allow the competitors to single-load up to 3 additional rounds if they exhaust their 5 round magazines before all targets are hit. As you might imagine, it's enormously challenging to ski at your maximum speed for several kilometers, then stop, quickly slow your breathing and heart rate enough to permit accurate shooting, then immediately transition back to ski racing until arriving at the next shooting station. When it was all over, Germany lead the medal count with 7, three of which were individual medals (two gold, one bronze) won by Laura Dahlmeier. Norway was just behind, with 6 medals, France won 5, Sweden 4. The US was shut out of medals; in fact, the US has never won an Olympic medal in biathlon. In the 2016 Summer Olympics, the US won just 3 of 45 medals. Perhaps the gun culture in the US isn't quite so strong as the media would have us believe. On a positive note, there were no reports of North and South Korean biathletes lining up on opposite ends of the firing ranges and shooting at each other.

Bailey's comments to the press are misguided, but I seriously doubt they are shared by the rest of the team. I'll bet the official response he got from the USA Biathlon organization was along the lines of 'shut the hell up.' Enjoy the recording if you are able--biathlon coverage portrays the shooting sports in a positive light. And Bailey didn't medal--let him fade into obscurity.

Two years ago, after checking out many different spotting scopes at both 200 and 300 yards, I finally decided to pull the trigger and ordered a Meopta MeoPro 80 HD spotting scope that has an integrated 20x 60x eyepiece, a HD Fluoride objective lens, Schott glass and ion-assisted multi-coatings to eliminate chromatic aberrations (CA) and color fringing, all encased in a rubber coated magnesium chassis. I envision using this spotting scope primarily for assisting in viewing the results of my shot placement for long-range shooting between 100-500 yards. As some of you know, Meopta is a high-quality optics company based in the Czech Republic that has been manufacturing optics since the 1930’s. I had been originally considering their Meostar S2 Angle 82mm spotting scope, but it, along with a 30-60x eyepiece, costing an additional $500, would total around $2,200 making it too expensive for what I want to pay. The MeoPro 80 HD takes essentially the same Czech-produced optics and assembles them in Meopta’s US facility in Hauppauge, NY. This allows for a significant cost reduction of this scope to the current street price of $1,500. For a sufficiently strong tripod to support the weight of this spotting scope, I decided to purchase a high-quality Manfrotto BeFree Compact Travel Carbon Fiber Tripod with a ball head. It is a sturdy, yet light tripod due to the carbon fiber legs, that extend to a height of 58 inches and will support the weight of the Meopta spotting scope, yet folds up to a compact 15.75 inches. It comes with a padded carrying case. The street price for this was $250. Sometimes I may also bring to the range my 40-year-old Leitz Tiltall Tripod to support my spotting scope or camera or brass catcher. The Tiltall tripod, manufactured by E. Leitz, Inc. was and is a very high-quality, heavy duty tripod that arrived on the photography scene back in the 1970’s and cost almost $100 at that time. Its color is matte black and is 30 inches long when collapsed and extends to 70 inches. It was manufactured using high quality parts, including brass bearings, machined aluminum knobs and tubular legs of heat treated aluminum and plated steel fasteners and continues to be very sturdy to this day. All of this was not cheap by any means, so my total out-of-pocket costs for these items, including shipping cost and sales tax was just around $2,000. Yes, this is far more money than what the original poster wants to spend or possibly can afford right now, which I understand and respect. But as many NJGF posters have indicated in related threads, you ultimately get what you pay for. I prefer to spend more $ up front and buy quality components and tools once, without having to upgrade later. My view is that it’s my total investment in a high-quality optic system that will provide superior visual capabilities to clearly see bullet holes in targets that are 100-500 yards away AND that I expect will last for the balance of my shooting career. Plus, I recognize and accept that my eyesight will not get any better as I get older..... AVB-AMG

I will add for you and - " Didn't really know much of what was required at all - except maybe some forms. "

Actually, I think it’s probably the opposite. Because we have such a huge variety of options in gun sports and guns to choose from, we are less specialized. In other countries they are so restricted they become very good at the two or three gun sports open to them and everyone who wants to shoot pretty much has to do the same thing as everyone else so they have large communities for a small amount of sports. In fact you have to belong to a registered club in some places to even be considered for a long gun. Look at the UK and Italy with Trap and Skeet, what other gun sports do they really have there? They do have some world champ trap and skeet shooters though. I think that’s why archery is so big in those places with limited gun sports as well. Korea, Japan, Italy, Australia, they all have excellent archery teams. Very little expertise in most shooting sports though. Just my opinion on it. -Jim

You guys that say this all the time and don't understand the whole picture. I said I won't be able to afford to retire here. It's NOT just about guns but it's the last straw. NJ SUX! - We have the highest taxes, insurance rates and people per square mile. - We have draconian gun laws. - We have a Nazi for a governor.... That sums it up. People are not moving out just because of guns. It because it's too expensive to live here. Which is why I said what I did....

And they have lost every election that this platform has been used. Russian issues and Gun Control will make or break this party. When push comes to shove old people vote, the younger generation is too busy to be bothered. Why do you think the Demofarts want registration mandatory at DMV and early election voting. Cannot get them to the pols on election day. But they will show up to protest, strange isn't it?

Howdy again, y’all!! It’s a rainy, crappy day out....perfect for making a big ole pot of Texas chili. I have some smoked brisket left over from my last cooking thread (I vacuum packed and froze it), so we’ll be making ‘BBQ Brisket chili’! We have friends coming over tomorrow to eat, so I’m making this a day ahead so it has time to meld properly. First, we start with some good beef. I save the ‘chain’ meat from a whole beef tenderloin when I break them down into filet mignons. I cut the tenderloin chain into pieces about 1/4 the size of your thumb. No worries if they are larger than that, as they will break down as it cooks. I use about 2 lbs. Put that in your chili pot, with a couple of tablespoons of good olive oil and brown it. I toss in 3 medium sized chopped onion. I used a yellow, white, and a red onion, just because that’s what I had in the kitchen. Toss that in with the beef while it browns, and add a generous amount of chopped garlic. I use around 2 tablespoons.....vampires ain’t a thing around my house! Add kosher salt and fresh ground pepper to taste. After that’s all nice and brown, I drain most of the fat off, and add my secret blend of spices. This time, I didn’t go crazy and grind my own chili powder, but I usually do. I will tell you that it’s chili powder, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayanne pepper, and a few other little odds and ends I like. For this batch, it’s about 1.5 cups of my chili blend. Add the chili powder blend into the meat, and stir till it’s coated. At this point, I’ll add 3 8oz cans of tomato sauce, 2 cups (about) if water (beef broth if you prefer), and 1 can of Ro-Tel tomatoes. They can be found alongside your tomato paste/sauce at your grocery store. I LOVE the flavor the Ro-Tel tomatoes add! I cook with them often. Now for the star of the show....the bbq brisket. I chopped up about 2 lbs, and tossed it in with the chili. I have some left over, so I just might have to make myself a bbq brisket sandwich with the leftovers. Don’t tell Mrs Tex!!! Stir all this together, turn the heat all the way down, and be patient. Let it simmer for a couple of hours. Stir it every now and again to make sure it doesn’t stick. When all the meat is fall apart tender, I like to take about 1/2 cup of masa flour, and a beer (your choice, I’m using a Yuengling Lager) to make a thin paste. Mix it well, and pour this into the chili. It will tighten it up, and add a wonderful flavor!! Let is simmer...the longer the better. I’ll probably take it off the heat around 7, and then refrigerate it overnight. Everything will come together as it sits, and dinnertime tomorrow, this will be even MORE amazing! We’ll finish this tomorrow....and I’ll also make some cornbread (in cast iron, of course!), and make it a proper dinner thread. Until then, my friends, good eats!!!!
