Just a quick update, for whatever reason the tapa that was for our site simply did not work and kept crashing everything. There is a new version coming out that I am testing and am hopeful. If it works will add it back on. Eta about a week, or at least will have a definitive answer as will do the test upgrade. Cannot upgrade now as some of the modifications have not yet been updated to work with latest version. In either case will make mobile a lot better browsing experience. Thanks!

What the fuck is Taylor Ham? Taylor’s Pork Roll is actually a correct name. Just like specifying you want Trenton or Case brand Pork Roll.

I took a 2 hour drive north up to the Tampa Florida fair. Before I left I checked the Fair web page for their policy on CC. I found very little. After we parked the car I was standing at the main entrance ticket booth and noticed metal detectors and a few deputies. I walked up and asked if concealed weapons were permitted on the fair grounds. He asked if I had one. I told him I did and he asked for my CWFL. He got on his radio and ran the number. It came back with my full name and he said follow me around the line and the metal detectors. He than said have a nice day. I waited for my wife and noticed other deputies escorting others around the line as well. Very professional law enforcement agency.

Not to mention you're not in the range yet, so these firearms being handled are not pointing downrange, they are pointing at sheetrock walls that have people on the other side. But they say this is about safety. Yeah, right.

I don't see how it couldn't hurt to contact him. When you click on the button that says "Take Action", it gives you a form letter where you put your name and e-mail address and off it goes. I deleted the form letter and proceeded to write my own. I mentioned the two studies, done by anti-gun groups, that stated that proposed legislation like HR 8 would have had no effect on the outcome in almost all of the recent mass shootings. I cited some more statistics and ended the letter. I wanted to keep it short because I don't know what kind of attention span he has. On a positive note, I am maintaining my letter writing skills, such as they are, because its becoming a lost art.

I don't see much point in contacting our Dem reps. They will just ignore us, and vote the party line. FWIW, our senators are useless as well. Republicans in NJ have virtually no voice (although there is still one Republican rep. left, for now).

You can't stop the turn over in this state and the newer residents couldn't give a crap about our 2A, our history or even our Christian, Judeo Holidays.....they're going too. The smart know, it's time to go....makes me laugh that the 1.5 mil. neighborhoods in Somerset County are now becoming home to Mooslim Mosques....watch those numbers drop once real building construction begins.

Please... tell me the physics that says the forces of X amount of expanding gas contained in volume Y is significantly less than the forces of expanding gas contained in a volume of 3Y. Please explain, sine you apparently know something special. An actually full on squib with no charge that lodges a bulled near the chamber end of things usually results in a KB in rifles and pistols. When a squib or undercharged round lodges it near the muzzle different stuff happens. But seriously. Either stop saying what is essentially nuh-uh over and over, and try to explain your reasoning. PIstol caliber round. Fast burning pistol powder. Powder is chosen to mostly be burnt up by the end of a 6" test fixture. placed in a longer rifle barrel, the powder is completely burnt before the bullet reaches the end once thta point is reached, pressure is DROPPING. The only thing changing that in a situation with a blocked barrel is the compression of the volume of air in the bore. Which is basically rounding error for most of the trip.

They are supposed to hand carry firearm marked bags directly to the baggage claim office but on two separate occasions at PHL I've had my guns going round the carousel. I was not a happy camper. Now I wait at the carousel just to be sure before hitting the baggage office.

Sure. Sometime later this week I will do a test install off site to the latest version of the software. It is a substantial rewrite so will do an inventory of what modifications and plugins still need to be updated and as long as most are up to date, (which I believe they are), will test out and test tapa in the process.

I believe the deadline to order rally swag that CNJFO is selling is in 2 days on 02/28 (You don't have to buy this gear to attend, but it does help support CNJFO). Order rally gear (including hi-viz vest) here: https://www.cnjfo.com/Rally

@Dommerc: The previous posters all have offered some very good and practical suggestions. FWIW, since 2016, I have had and been using the 5.11 Ranger Qualifier Bag 18L for several handguns and range accessories, such as eyes & ears protection, speed loader, small first-aid kit, small towel, etc. If necessary, I can also fit 1-3 50-round boxes of 9mm ammo in it as well. While it was a bit pricey with an MSRP of $80, the 600D all-weather polyester used on the exterior and 300D ployester inside lining, have both held up quite well, as have the sturdy YYK self-healing zippers. I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for and so far I have not been disappointed. On the other hand, I also had purchased from Beretta, their "High Performance Cartridge Bag with a separate bottom zippered compartment". It was also not cheap, with an MSRP of $90. I liked the design and it fit all of my shotgun accessories, including 100 shells. The problem was that they skimped and used very cheap zippers. Of course, the main zipper broke after about 6 weeks. Beretta's customer service was very good and gave me a full credit for the defective bag, which I returned and they replaced with a new one, of the same design. Of course, the zipper on that replacement bag also broke about 3 months of use. Thankfully, they gave me a full credit to my C.C. once I sent them photos of the defective zipper. About 5 months later, Beretta discontinued that line of bags, for obvious reasons. So price, while usually is a good indicator of quality, it is not always the case..... I hope this is all helpful..... AVB-AMG

@BobA: For what it it worth, when I decided to take a multi-state road trip, before I embarked on the trip and based on the back-and-forth discussion in this CCW section, I purchased, read and updated regularly a number of concealed carry iPhone apps, including: CCW, CCA, Posted and LegalHeat. They were recommended to me by other posters here, in addition to studying the gun laws of each of the states I planned to visit. That was somewhat tedious and laborious, but a necessary task, that was made much easier by using these Apps. Also, using the advice from @HBecwithFn7 and as a cheat-sheet reminder, I wrote on an index card for each of these states, Y or N for if one is required to inform a LEO that I am conceal carrying, as well as which of my non-resident CCW permits is recognized and honored in that state. I was consciously aware of what the law was/is, relative to each state, as to whether or not, if stopped, one must voluntarily inform a LEO that you are carrying. Specifically, the individual state law that dictates that if stopped by a LEO, you are required to immediately and voluntarily notify the LEO that you are carrying, and display not just the usual Driver’s License, Vehicle Registration and Auto Insurance ID Card, but the applicable CCW Permit card. As one poster noted previously, in some states, you are not required to notify immediately, but only "if asked by" or "upon demand of" the LEO, (i.e. "Are you carrying any weapons?" or, "Are there any weapons in the car?"). Thankfully, I was not stopped by any LEO for any reason on this trip so did not have to deal with that situation. The laws are constantly changing and the onus is on us to make sure that we are aware of and abide by whatever each state's requirements are. While I agree that it is a royal PITA, it is something that we have to do... AVB-AMG P.S. - If you are interested and have not already seen and read it, here is a link to my travelogue of that road trip from two years ago:

My lgs had Sticky holsters in stock so I tried it with my P365. I had a Nemesis for my g43, tried it with the Sig but still too bulky for the pocket. These Sticky holsters are thinner and squishy, plus have the muzzle end sealed. I can now easily pocket carry the P365. Size sm-5 fits perfect.

Here's the results of a squib in a Sig P220, shooting factory PMC 230 gr. hardball ammo. Note the bulged barrel. Shooter became evident of the problem when the slide locked back on the bulged barrel but he didn't recall the squib. The bullet lodged in the barrel from the squib was then pushed out by the next very capable fired round which resulted in the bulge. The barrel could have burst but it didn't.

Best airport ever to fly with a firearm was Anchorage Alaska. No muss, no fuss, did not want to see anything. Just fill out the paperwork and go. It was very refreshing. Now Philly has been good and bad at times. One time I needed to speak with an AAL supervisor because the new girl didn't know you could check luggage with firearms. I have also flown with just firearm parts in checked baggage and was made to fill out the firearm declaration form even though there was no firearm. Go early because you never know what type of response you may get. People have biases, people are ignorant, and some are just stupid. Those types will always slow you down some.

When you get back to Newark most likely your bag will not come out at the normal baggage drop - you should go to the counter because it will be held as it's a firearm. I think it was from Dallas when they tagged it with the special luggage flag that means it automatically gets pulled and sent over to the counter. And yes - they checked my ID to make sure I am who I said I was.

You are from Central NJ? if so its Pork Roll. We are civilized people in this neck of the woods

Strider, first of all, you do not own an "assault rifle", unless it's a full auto capable military issue rifle, which I'm fairly sure it isn't. This assault rifle BS is propaganda from the democrats and media on the left that want to make black guns sound scarier and freak people out. Second, as an heir to his estate, you are perfectly entitled to own it as long as it is NJ compliant. Even if he did not specify it in a will, all of his possessions from the estate go to the heirs. Third, you do NOT need to have a NJ FPID card to legally posses that rifle. Having the card makes life a little easier, but in your circumstance, it's not strictly a requirement. Lastly, AKs are fugly guns, you should sell it to Golfbattery (through an FFL) as fast as you can and use the proceeds to buy yourself a beautiful American AR-15.
