My son and I started watching all of the Marvel Movies in Chronological order (Order in which the would have occurred in the Marvel Universe, not by release dates). We’re on “Thor” tonight. It has been a fun diversion from the craziness of the last 2 weeks.

I vacuumed the cat the other day, but that was at 1am, after 15 beers...

If the old one is quarter turn, yes, just replace the whole thing. I've had really good luck with Prier multi-turn anti-freeze hose faucets. Just cut the old one out and measure before you go to the store. They come in 8, 10, 12, and 14" lengths.

My youngest is finishing her college semester from home, and I learned that somehow she's never seen Animal House, Airplane! or Blues Brothers. So I'm filling gaps in her formal education by introducing her to the classics. We're up to Airplane!, scheduled for tonight, but I can't find my copy of Blues Brothers, and it's not on Netflix. Update: She liked Airplane!, but I learned she's never seen Monty Python and the Holy Grail. So that one is queued up for the weekend.

I actually recently completed my first lower, and besides and armorers wrench (which you can get cheap) and a 15 minute YouTube video..I didn't need anything "special". It's extremely intimidating when you haven't done it before. After completing my first one I could confidently do it again without the video. There's a couple tricky parts and a detent and spring may fly across the room, but besides that it's pretty straight forward. Don't let it scare ya. Also to add, always have an easily lost or broken parts kit or two around. Ya know in case....they're like $6 each...

I'm still working, but nonetheless, I planned on potentially not working so we are extending our balcony by 30 inches. Pulled down the railing which we custom built over about 2 weeks. It took 2 hours to remove, lol. Removed two rows of flooring started hanging lumber. I've got a bunch more to do yet.

Common sense, amazing how people need the government to tell them what to do. Almost like we aren't adults and need to be treated like 8 year olds.

I'm not against opening indoor ranges, but I'm not going to go to one if it's crowded. Regardless of Corona or not.
  10. 2 points
You can HEPA filter all you want. COVID-19 is droplet transmission spread. Unless you social distance humans, I don’t see how indoor ranges that get packed on weekends are going to open.

I rarely envy anyone, but I do envy the people who live in free states and have enough land to have their own backyard ranges. Must be nice.

So I was just in a conference call and the presenters greets everyone with "be safe", and I was reminded of a movie that came out almost 30 years ago. Those that remember "Demolition Man" where no on shook hands, social distancing, and greeting each other with "Be Well". It's funny how writers and directors can see 30 years into the future. Now all we need is 3 see shells and the toilet paper issue should get resolved.

Pina colada meatballs? Or more accurately, coconut margarita meatballs? I dunno....I've enjoyed both drinks, never once thinking "hmmm, this would really taste better if it had some ground chuck in it".
  19. 1 point
I made 2# of ground chuck into the worlds best meatballs in an instapot @JohnnyB. Sautéed in coconut oil and the gravy was made with tequila and coconut milk. Yes I am da man

Both the vacuum breaker (top round knob) and the stem/washer are usually repairable. There are four different styles for the vacuum breaker that I carry on the truck, many of the washers are standard faucet washers (1/4' or 00 size). The video above explains stem removal pretty good. The vacuum breaker is pretty simple too. That being said, I typically replace them. Especially if there is access on the inside. If you decide to go for it and get stuck, give me a call And, if your faucet is 1/4 turn style, don't even bother trying to fix it. Not a fan of those in that application.

Yes, but NJ isn't fiscally FUBAR because income tax returns will come in late this year, NJ is fiscally FUBAR because they've been massively, stupidly, overspending for decades.

NJ is a Nanny state and Nanny says "no guns for you, only trained law enforcement." I've seen some of them "Qualify" many are terrible, not all. Those that were in the jungles, the sandbox or the rock pile against formidable foes are the guys I would rather have in my foxhole. I would argue, any Combat Vet is better trained than 95% of LEO's. From Tanner's FB page.... We will remain closed for the rest of the week to protect the safety of our sales staff. Our goal is to try and reopen Monday April 6th. We are going to put a lot of safety precautions in place to try and keep everyone as safe as we can. Last week we booked appointments for this week and then we decided to stay closed. We are pushing all those appointments back to next week with the same day and time. If you have an appointment booked and will not be able to make it please email us at [email protected] so we can remove your name from the appointment list. We are going to see how the appointments go on Monday and Tuesday before we start booking them for the following week. We will have a new online appointment calendar so once we post the link you will be able to book your own reservation online which will make booking an appointment very easy. We will have two calendars. One for firearm sales and one for ammo/accessory sales. We are very stocked up on guns and ammo at this time and we are receiving shipments in every day so when we reopen, we will have a great selection. We will have a great selection of 9mm, 40, 45, 223 and 5.56 We will have target and defensive in all calibers. We will be making an ammo post on Friday to let everyone know what we will have in stock. There will be some limits depending on the caliber. You will be able to purchase at least 100 rounds of 9mm and 200 rounds of 223/5.56 Transfers: Please be patient !!! We are still receiving in tons of transfers every day and it is going to take some time to get everyone scheduled appointments. WE WILL NOT BE SHIPPING ANY TRANSFERS THAT CAME IN TO ANOTHER DEALER. Again, please be patient. We are trying the best we can. Raymond

Those anti freeze faucets with the long-ass stem have always been problematic. If the stem is even slightly off center you need a nice supple gasket to shut off the wAter. When the gasket starts stiffening up it won’t seal any more ive tried disassembling one before to replace the gasket and could never find a replacement (I think mine was tapered). Ended up cutting the whole thing off and replacing it

A single stage press isn't that hard to use to make a quantity of pistol ammo — you work in batches Size 200 cases prime 200 cases expand 200 cases seat 200 bullets crimp 200 cases It doesn’t take long, you get a rythm going on the press — I would recommend the little dandy pistol powder measure — powder charging on the included tool will be slow with the included measure Yes a progressive is faster, more expensive, and more involved — you don’t need to start with a progressive Just realize that you will outgrow this kit quick if you do actually become a reloader — even if you stay single stage you will probably upgrade every piece of this kit

Oil prices dropped under a half per barrel, while pump gas dropped to remain steady around $2.15 or thereabouts. Amazing.

The kit you linked will get you started and soon frustrated of you want to reload any quantity. Consider stepping up to the classic turret press. It automatically rotates the turret with each lever throw so the 4 different dies get used in sequence - 4 swings and you have a complete round rather than having to do each stage in batches.. The turret is also quick swapping so you can switch calibers much easier. Also, once you set the dies to the right height in in the turret you don't have to set them again. With the single stage press you will be changing dies often. It is not a progressive as you are still only making 1 round at a time, but it's a lot faster than a single stage. I can make about 200 pistol rounds per hour with mine once it's set up.

I have property in South Berwick, Maine. I'm up there 2 weeks a month with my work schedule. If you guys are up there when I am I'd be happy to meet up, we can shoot at the club I belong to or honestly anywhere with open land. For the time being I'm staying in NJ until this blows over because there is even less open in Maine/NH than there is down here.

Z-Pak is being used to prevent secondary infections of the lungs by bacteria. It has very little to do with the virus itself, same with Doxycycline. Neither of these drugs are being used to treat his condition, and thus will have little impact on him getting better. However, these drugs allow his immune system to focus on eliminating a single threat(virus) instead of multiple.. Many respiratory viral infections becomes complicated over time with bacterial infections as the tissue becomes compromised.

Compare that to a person who never drove a car yet bought one to escape an emergency! The car, like the gun, are disasters waiting to happen if put into use with no experience in an adrenaline driven panic!

Walking into Tanners is reminiscent of shopping at the old Leslie Edelman's at the Airport Circle in Pennsauken. Glass showcases filled with new and used handguns, and the walls behind the showcases filled with new and used rifles and shotguns. Ahhh, for the old days.

I’m still working, although my customer visits are pretty slow, because some of them are shut down for COV19. It’s the time of year where we do our compliance training, so I’ve sat through a lot of training videos online. Ugh. Gun safe has been organized, guns cleaned, and ammo fort inventoried. Mrs Tex and I have been taking turns cooking, and trying out new recipes. When it was nicer out, we started on some yard cleanup, and spring cleaning around the house. Fun wise...I’ve starting catching up on my hobbies. Shot primer on a 1/24 scale Star Wars x-wing I’ve been dragging my feet on. It’s almost ready for paint, when it gets a little warmer.
